I've had an amazing experience with All Stars. I'm 16 years old and I have worked since I was 14, I payed for my lessons myself which were affordable. Secondly I had James as an instructor. If you have ever had James you know how awesome he is. He makes everything enjoyable, stress free and teaches you everything you need to know and even more. He's prepared me to the point where I drove my family confidently about 660 miles for our vacation and I never had a moment where I felt like I was unprepared. He's a great instructor and you will be great hands if you have him. Thanks to All Stars and James, I will be getting my license soon and I have enjoyed learning how to drive!
Over the top! I chose to take my daughter here, and she took to the instructor right away, who was courteous, and very kind. I was a little nervous to let my little girl get in the car with a stranger, but am glad I did... she got the best attention, and it wasn't that expensive. Plus the receptionists are AMAZING! They got her first appointment booked right away, and answer any and all questions I ever have! Thank you again from the Will s.
My son was enrolled in all-star 3yrs ago and he had a Wonderful experience with his driving instructor who was Very patience with him and extremely knowledgeable inregards to the rules and regulations of the road we are now getting ready to enroll our younger son who is getting ready to start driving. It saddens me to hear these terrible experiences that so many have had with Such A Amazing company.
Not the best, not the worst. Pros: affordable, they keep their appointments, they show up to your house on time, easy to communicate with (especially the office staff). Cons: the instructors are somewhat unprofessional. I had Aref for the first two lessons, and he was decent until he started laughing hysterically at me for not understanding the point of straight-line backing. That was pretty weird. My third lesson consisted more of James ranting about his political views than telling me how to pass my driving test.
My son had an excellent driving school experience with Allstars. It was easy to schedule the lessons. The instructors and office staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the convenient location of their office. The online school and driving lessons worked--my son passed both the permit test and the driving test on the first try. He even scored a perfect score on the driving test! Thank you Allstars!
My son had a very good experience with Allstars Driving school. The staff was very pleasant to work with, and very accommodating to my son's schedule. He enjoyed the lessons he received both from Rich and Michael. My wife and I were equally excited to learn that our son received 100 percent on his DMV driving test. We attribute our son's success on the test to his positive experience with AllStars Driving School.
TERRIBLE. My cousin had 6 hours of training with Allstars Driving School, during that training she had no drivers licenses, she had beginner's permit ONLY, while the instructor was training her, she was caught in violation of traffic light (Running throw the red light), because the instructor wasn't paying attention, if he was paying attention he should pushed the breaks from his side and stopped the car, as he has the ability to stop the car. Not only that, he should stopped the car when it was yellow, why he waited all this time? The road rules state that when you approach a yellow light you must STOP if you are safely able to do so before reaching the stop line, and I can see from the red light ticket pictures (Attached) that there was no car behind them. Running throw the red light cause hundreds of deaths and tens of thousands of injuries each year, I really cannot believe that they endangered the life of my cousin and compromised the safety of other vehicle operators and pedestrians, I thought the driving instructor would have made sure that didn't happen as that's what they are there for. I was shocked to find that the ticket was in my cousin's name, so I called the school and let them know that they forward the ticket to my cousin, they stated that I need to talk to the business owner (Diana) about that, I've called Diana, and she said "we are not responsible for that, red light means stop in all languages, why your cousin didn't stop the car". She was terribly RUDE! Go somewhere else. Very unprofessional, rude and horrible customer service.
Dwight is the instructor for the Auburn area amd he is awesome - super calming and supportive. This is our second time using All Stars and both of my nieces used them as well, with Dwight at the helm. They are a great price, very accommodating, and most of all reliable! Highly recommended!
I was a bit nervous at first because of the reviews, but decided to give them a shot and all I can say is wow! These guys are absolutely amazing. I had 2 instructors, Rich and Jeff, and they were so patient and extremely helpful. Not to mention very funny! I had a very fun & comfortable time with both! I took my driver's test today and only got 2 errors! Would 100% recommend!
I have many friends and family who have used thus driving school and I have heard nothing but great things from them. Most recently, my cousin got all three of her lessons through then and loved them. She said that her instructor was very helpful and knowledgeable about the laws of the road. She used to be a very timid driver but now after her experience if with Allstars she is confident on the road. This means the world to my family as had safety is our first priority. I have also heard nothing but good things from friends who have used them did their teenagers and I will continue to refer friends and family to them.
The customer service with this company is absolutely horrible and the woman I spoke to likes to argue with paying customers. I should have listened to the reviews and gone to West Point instead, they are more pricey but outstanding when it came to scheduling and making sure all information given was accurate and in writing, my daughter got a 100% passing grade on her driving test. I would not recommend this place. I guess you get what you pay for.
I don't know what everyone is complaining about. We were referred by a friend who had a great experience and passed her exam easily. We also have had a great experience every time we call customer service and the instructor (Paul I believe) has been very helpful! The scheduling is designed to work with the practice hours the child is doing at home, so maybe not wait until the last minute because the permit process takes a while to complete regardless.
Never ever have I written a review on Yelp -- good or bad. I wish I had taken the bad reviews for Allstars more seriously. This company is the worst. Customer service is practically non-existent. What you get is a lady who answers the phone, puts you on long holds and schedules appointments (with distain) for sometime in the distant future. Never did I get an appointment for the time I wanted... it was usually a week to 2 weeks later.
The other negative reviews really, cover my experience as well. The day I called to inquire about lessons they were quick to give me an appointment and charge my credit card. After that lesson I tried to schedule another and it was months before I could get one. Instead of being apologetic I got a lecture about how I should have called right away after his first lesson. The driver trainer told me to call after we got 20 hours of driving done. I was shocked at how rudely I was treated. Oh yes and his second appointment started by him driving another student home....hmmmm, private lesson? Not so much. The last lesson was accidently scheduled during school hours and when I found out I was told it was a $60 dollar fee since it was 22 hours notice instead of 24. The woman over the phone is snarky and rude and when we said how outrageous that was she pointed out that they are the cheapest one in Rocklin and need to check our facts. Well, I would have paid the $10 more dollars to another business to save all the frustration. Horrible customer service, near impossible to get a timely second and third appointment and zero customer service skills by the office lady. Oh and after all that I still need to teach my child the basics so we had to cancel his drive test that was sceduled in a few days until he gets more practice.
This place is awesome! I had the instructor named John, and I told him flat out that I had no idea what I was doing. He was calm and helpful, telling me in advance what was happening and going to happen. He told me all the things to practice for the test, what I needed to work on, etc. We drove 36 miles without any problems! I was blown away with his teaching. I highly recommend this school to ANYONE looking to learn how to drive, they are so fantastic! Definitely telling friends about it :)
DO NOT USE THE JOKE OF A DRIVING SCHOOL. First off, everyone in the office is rude and disorganized. The driving instructors just play around all 6 hours, you hardly learn any driving from these hooligans, no u turns, no backing up in a straight line, it's absurd. My mom called to see if they had any other dates for my 3rd lesson, I was just curious, but instead they cancelled my lesson and rescheduled me a month and a half out, (mind you I haven't had a lesson in about a month) You'd be better off teaching your child yourself. You'd save a lot of money.
I was a little leery at first based on the reviews but decided to use these guys anyway for my son's lessons. I had to leave a message the first time I called but they returned it later that day. The girl answered all my questions, outlined the time line of the lessons, and how they should be spaced out. I was hesitant at first to pay up front over the phone, but we received a receipt on the first lesson. But I also worried about the other two lessons, what if they lost our paperwork? When I called three months later, it went just as smoothly as the first time. For the last lesson, I didn't follow their recommendation of making the dmv appointment when they said so I had to move my sons dmv appointment to accommodate the schedule of the last lesson. Lesson learned. They do only have so many drivers and so many lessons a day, so you have to take what you can get. Overall they were helpful, the drivers Rich and Jeff were very professional and timely. The feedback and paperwork they provided was very helpful. My only suggestions to the business would be to provide email confirmations with receipt instead of waiting until the lesson and if possible some type of reminder of when lesson is. I worried I got the date and time wrong and if they would show up at all. Otherwise everything was fine.
After reading all the negative reviews I decided to call anyway, I felt the reviews helped me to ask more questions. I must be honest a very polite lady named Valery answered the phone she answered all my questions, she was very detailed & professional she explained the steps to follow after the online course is completed and gave me tips on how to save time with DMV to prevent any delays, she was very friendly and helpful, so I paid over the phone and signed my son up for both the online Drivers Ed course & Drivers Training.
We were referred by a friend and so far, we have had a great experience. My son said his instructor was patient and helpful. They arrived early and the lesson was two hours as described. They work with your schedule and your student can drive both day and night. They used a newer vehicle with no other passengers. Our friend is a law enforcement officer and says most of his coworkers use this school.
Would absolutely give negative stars if I could! Absolutely terrible experience! They have no concept of customer service! You have to work around their schedule and they make zero effort to be accommodating. My daughter was in a car pool with other kids in our neighborhood and it was not possible to take the first appointment after school so it was nearly impossible to get 3 appointments in within the 6 months. They only book appointments based on the time they have, which is fine but help customers with offering a call back once that appointment gets filled so you know you can have the second one in that day. We gave them 34 days that we could take the second appointment that they would schedule for those days and their only option was to have me call back everyday to check and see if one would be open, so 16 phone calls later we found one appointment that would work. Miserable experience would not ever recommend! Any of the other driving schools in the are would be much better.
The only reason why I'm giving this business a one-star review is because of one instructor. The instructor I had from this school went by the name Brandon Johnson, and I don't know if he's still working for this business, but he is by far the absolute WORST teacher I ever had. Not only was this man very mean and rude, but he was also VERY immature and unprofessional. At least half the time during the lesson, he would be on his phone chatting with his friends, swearing and using inappropriate language, and boasting about how proud he is about his mean personality. If I have just ONE recommendation for this school, it would be to check up on their instructors often to make sure they're professional at all time. Why not have a feedback or an instructor review section on your website? Because of my bad experience, I did not recommend your school to anyone I know; I even told everyone to say away from the instructor that I had. This is the biggest complaint I have for this business, so I suggest they check up on it right away.
We were recommended by a friend to Allstars Driving School and are so thankful for that recommendation. We could have not been happier. From my very first call to the school, I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the front-line staff at the reception desk. They answered my questions, compassionately allayed my concerns, and worked hard to coordinate things to fit our schedule and needs They always promptly answered my emails, were up-front about billing, and receive an A+ for quality service. No small thing these days, when customer service seems like a quaint old-fashioned notion. The driving instructor was exceptional... friendly, knowledgeable, patient, respectful.. I could go on. The car was clean and perfect for one to learn to drive on. In short, I cannot recommend this school highly enough. From the amazing level of service from the first call to the competitive pricing to their fantastic instructors, I wish I was able to give Allstars Driving School 10 stars. If you want to feel competent and confident with your road skills, this place is the complete package when it comes to driving schools.
Allstars has been in business since 1985, with one of the highest success rates in California. We are proud to be a part of your driver training experience. We are here to teach you defensive driving skills to help you learn to drive and survive. Allstars takes driver training seriously, our experienced instructors will patiently guide you through residential, rural, and freeway traffic, not to...
This school has the worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life. There is this one lady that always answers the phone and she was beyond rude. They never pick up their phone calls during business hours and when they do I am always on hold. They will not let you take the lessons whenever you want. You have to wait a month after your lesson to be able to schedule your next appointment. The driving instructors that I have had so far are super nice but other than that the amount of money you spend at this school is definitely not worth it and judging all the other bad reviews that I've read about this school just proves that this school should just be put out of business. Everyone seems to want a refund for their money. I wish I could've found a cheaper and more affective driving school that I could've spent my money on. I am extremely disappointed in this school.
Poor customer service. I purchased the Free Drivers Ed Online with 6 hours driving in July 2014. When the DMV test is completed, the child is not able to drive until they have had their first lesson. Allstars will not schedule the first lesson until you have the DMV permit number given upon passing the DMV test. When I called to schedule the first driving test, they could not schedule him in for SIX WEEKS! We are now in January and ready to take the DMV Driving portion. I need to schedule our last session with Allstars. They will not schedule it until we have the driving test scheduled with DMV. DMV will not schedule the test until your eligible date.
My second daughter just finished her driving instruction on Sunday, Jan. 4. She went yesterday to the South Sac DMV and took the behind the wheel exam. She scored 100%!!! I have to give the instructor "AREF" a huge Thank You! He was an excellent instructor. After each lesson he would go over her session and compliment or give her advice as to how to handle the situation the next time. He was patient and I could tell by talking to him that he had a lot of experience in teaching young people how to drive. She learned not only what was required to pass the DMV test but also learned real life driving skills. I would highly recommend for a parent to have their child take the lessons. They learn more at times from others than from the parent. And if you live in the Elk Grove area I would say to ask if you can get Aref to be your childs instructor. Very nice man, prompt and always willing to talk to the parent before and after a session. Thank you Aref! My daughter Amber will always remember you and speak highly of you. You are a valuable asset to Allstars.
Very unhappy. Not accommodating to their customers. They work around All Stars schedule. The customer is not always right nor even somewhat right. All Stars is always right. We've sent 2 teenage boys through their program and have 3 upcoming teens. We won't be returning to them this summer.
Teen Drivers Ed is a California statewide program. We are a proud Allstars Driving School affiliate. Allstars Driving School is licensed and registered with the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles license 4434. In some California counties (current Placer, Sacramento, and parts of El Dorado and Yolo counties), we offer additional training for behind-the-wheel assistance. If you live in one of...
TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT SEND YOUR TEENS HERE!!! They are a rip off and will continue to take more money from you. Everything you ask for costs money, nothing is included. I called back a few hours after making my sons appt for BTW training on the SAME day to change it, and there was a $20 fee! They DID NOT give me the form DMV needed for my son to take his test and I had to drive over there to get it, and THEY CHARGED ME ANOTHER $20!!! And on top of everything, the office staff (older female with short hair) was terribly RUDE! Go somewhere else. Very unprofessional, rude and overpriced.
We are very dissatisfied with our daughter's experience with Allstars School of Driving and do not recommend it to anyone!!! There were multiple things that went wrong, which broke the claims that the company made. First, the lessons were NEVER a full 2 hours. The instructor was often late to the lessons and ended about 20/25 minutes earlier for two out of the three lessons. Second, he showed up to our house with another student in the backseat of the learners car twice and had my daughter drop the students off, even though they promised that no other students would be in the car other than my daughter. Next, my daughter said that he was very distracting on the road, cracking jokes and singing instead of directing and correcting her driving. He never taught her any of the basic driving maneuvers, such as u-turns, backing out, or parallel parking. Then, on her last lesson, she asked him to drive around the DMV area to get a feel for the test will be like and he agreed to it, but halfway there, he asked her to stop at Starbucks, got out for 20 minutes, came back with a drink for himself and asked her to drive back home. On the drive home he told her that she will most likely fail, as her driving and concentration is inadequate and dropped her off at home 20 minutes early. My wife had to take a day off work and take her to the DMV area to practice before her test. I feel like I was cheated out of my money and hope that none of you make the same mistake that I did.
If I could give negative start I would! My brother is 18 and signed up for driving school with them. 1st lesson was fine. They came on the same day that we paid for the school to take him driving. But it went downhill from there really quickly. What they failed to mention is that there aren't any days available for the second lesson. We had to wait 3 weeks for the 2nd lesson. So I called them to express my disappointment but the woman on the phone tells me that my brother won't be able to take his driving test until October. ( suggesting that we have plenty of time to wait around)Since he is a minor they should really check their record before they speak nonsense. He is 18!! He needs his license now before he goes off to college!!!!! Oh and she had an audacity to tell me to take him in for his driving test since his 18!! What about my 300 bucks that I paid for you to teach my brother how to drive! Scam! Stay away from this company!
My daughter had a good experience here and I paid for an extra lesson. I'm surprised at low ratings, but realize everyone has different experiences. Aref did a great job instructing my daughter on her lessons with him. He was on time and professional. I thought their Honda Civics were a great learning car to be in and were clean. For me, I would personally recommend them due to our positive experience.
These people are rude and unaccomodating. They never explained to myself or my daughter that she needed a 3 week gap between her lessons, and now she can't get her license for 3 more weeks! Refused to refund the cost of the lesson so we could go somewhere else and the woman answering the phone is very rude.
Signed up online and then called to get the $20 discount because my child already completed classroom and has her permit. There is fine print that says to call for the discount, which we did. Nowhere does it say or is clear that you do not sign up online at all to get the discount. Company absolutely refused to refund the $20. They said it would cost them $20 to refund thru the credit card company. The customer is always right, but not with this company! If I could cancel and go somewhere lese I would. Stay away from the them! Horrible customer service, I am only asking for MY money back.

I was surprised to see the reviews for this driving school because I've had two kids go through their program and it has been a very good experience both times. Dwight was the instructor for both of my kids and they felt very comfortable and enjoyed the experience of having him as an instructor. The office was always very friendly and accommodating; when we did have a family issue with changing our appointment several times, they were always very friendly and accommodating. Everything was very well organized and gave us a list of items to do along the way. I was very pleased with the experience both times.
I recently had a very uncomfortable situation with Allstars Driving School. They made a mistake on our appointment day and showed up on a day that my son was on pain killers from having his wisdom teeth out. When I called to reschedule they said it was impossible that it was their error and it must have been mine and I had to pay again. My suggestion is to have them send you a written confirmation of the time of your appointment. That way if there is an error it can be resolved. They have a "tough luck too bad for you" attitude when it comes to customer service and know every loop hole there is to squeeze as much money as they can out of the consumer. Now that I am reading the reviews I am a little nervous about the lessons to come!!
Horrible customer service. They did a bad job training my daughter to drive on her first lesson compared to the other company we used. I told them I'd tell the charter schools not to use them and she bragged well we do a lot of business with the schools. These lessons are $300 and they don't want to put a good effort in. They said, right before my kid's second lesson that it expired when her first lesson was only about 5 months ago. No one said anything to use to not bother because she would never even get her next two lessons. They say there is an expiration date, but never bothered to say anything when they told us to schedule the next one in three or four months. They easily could do this but instead they know they have you over a barrel. I would not suggest anyone send their kid to this driving school. There are better out there.
My daughter had an "ok" experience with AllStars - but for me, the parent of a teen who is asked to drive to Auburn on Auburn-Folsom road and then return to Rsvl via freeway?? what is that about for a first time freeway experience? The killer and thank God it wasn't literally that, was the instructor FELL ASLEEP while she was driving on the freeway! She didn't even know how to exit! I asked for the most experienced instructor who was a questionable man and I can't believe I even let her go with him. I also asked for a "group" lesson so she wouldn't be alone. They couldn't seem to accommodate either even though it was advertised as such. Needless to say, her bf went to the other well known program and I met the GENTLEMAN who owns the business - wow did I regret not paying a little extra for that service. Not going to be back here for daughter #2 - thanks anyway!
Zero Stars! The company refused to offer me an exchange/refund for services that where still valid within the deadline. I purchased driving lessons for my daughter. She was unable to use the lessons due to not feeling comfortable driving. I contacted the business and the person who answered did not identify herself but later told me she was the business owner. I explained to her that my son was going to be needing the lessons that my daughter didn't use because he obtained his permit. She immediately got defensive and said that "we don't due transfers!" She continued to state that they this happens all the time and they can't do anything about it. I told her that I understood but I purchased the package of services for $250 and if there was anything she could do to give me some kind of refund or discount. She replied they can only give me the same High School discount that they offer everyone else. Based on my conversation with the business owner she made it very clear that she has customer service issues. She said she has customer complaints all the time with this policy. I continued to tell her that I know she has a policy but I gave her $250 for services that where not provided. She refused to offer me any kind of exchange or discount. I again told her that I would expect better customer service especially since the company is locally owned. I always do my best to do business with locals knowing how rough the economy is. The end result was she was silent and said, "what kind of discount would you like?" I said, "at least 50%" and she replied, "Absolutely Not"! I don't know why she would ask me if she had not intention of ever offering me any type of discount. It really sad that I had to write this public review. Don't bother to leave a reply AllStars Driving School.
