This process to a very long time. I had Allstate file a claim with GEICO and then was instructed to wait for a call from them. They never called. It turned out that GEICO never even had my number or any info on the incident. There was no response from either company for weeks. Neither checking up on the statu of the claim or giving me updates. What should have been a simple process was stressful and frustrating. Simply put, I thought there would be more help in this situation.
Allstate has been ok, but a fe issues with my claim. I was hit by an uninsured vehicle in May which totaled my car and caused injuries to me. I was told this morning that I needed to schedule my follow up exam soon because it had been 3 months since I was seen at the ER. I have been referred by doctor for a follow up appointment but still because the Quest ER facility had not sent my exam results to my doctor, the follow up exam had not yet been scheduled. This morning on a phone call I was told that I needed to do that soon because if it was too long then Allstate may not correlate any needed treatment to the accident. My insurance policy says that I have 2 years to receive treatment, but it seems that is not the case. There is nowhere in my policy that explains that I need to see a doctor immediately after because Allstate would not attribute any after treatments as part of the injuries incurred at the time of the accident.
While Sheppard Insurance did help me get insured, I was threatened with cancellation because there was a disconnect between my agent, and the main office. I thought that I had straightened everything out when I receive a $500 bill. Numerous calls to my agent went unanswered. Days later, after my agent returned from vacation, my situation was resolved to the tune of a $14 charge that I, on no fault of my own, was due.
I've always believed the heart of everything lies in the foundation of your presentation and Nick Coats the manager of the insurance department at Sheppard motors in Eugene Oregon scored a 10 out of /10 in excellent service and knowledge of presenting me a variety of options. I was in the dealership leasing a new vehicle and not only did Nick reduce the cost of my current auto insurance by over $350.00 a year he also provided me with an amazing quote on my home owners policy as well. He has also sent me a great follow up call to help me set up my online service and my auto debit. It is people like Nick that made it easier transitioning from Farmers to Allstate. Nick Coates was very helpful. I appreciate the time he took to answer any questions I had. I do have an issue with what I would assume is the head office with communications they send out. I paid my premium 6 mos in advance & later received a letter stating that they have tried reaching me and have been unable to. They go on to say that if they don't hear from me in the next few days my coverage will be cancelled. A phone call to myself or agent would have been appreciated.
I was welcomed and Nick did his best and did find me a better deal. I am saving lots of money and I am very happy. I am happy that Theresa who I bought my car from referred me or else I would have not know that you guys had insurance agents at the dealership. So thank you. You guys are great.
The only thing that really bothers me is my payment is scheduled to come out of my account on the 22nd and I'll get an payment confirmation on the 22nd but the money never comes out until almost a week after. therefore it causes me to think the money has come out when it hasn't then other bills are paid so there's no money in the account when it tries to pull it out. Then I don't get notified that it wasn't paid till the next bill which I ended up getting an extra fee. Not happy.
