Very clean, lot of machines of different sizes. Open on a holiday so I could do laundry after having house full of company.

We've not been in such a clean, well run coin-op laundry ever! Everyone using the facility was sober, polite, and clean. Lots of clean, operating machines in many sizes. We'll be back when ever we need a coin-op laundry....

So I went to Chicago for two months for work, and I come back to brand new machines, not just one or two, but two whole rows of brand new washers. They are also redoing the entire frame that encloses the back of the washers. It's nice to see the older machines being replaced with new ones, and it's nice to see the prices aren't being jacked up on the new machines (last laundromat I used doubled the prices when they brought in new machines). Everything else I said in my original review still stands, and this is still my go to laundromat and is the one I recommend to friends. I also got personal feedback from the business owner from my last review, and that was really appreciated. If you're looking for a clean, well maintained laundromat, look no further, this is the best in town. Well lit, well maintained, always clean, and if you come during the day the staff are always friendly and helpful! The new machines, they are still installing the frame and covers around the back of the machines. The new machines, they are still installing the frame and covers around the back of the machines.

Been doing laundry here for over a year. Place is kept up well, and is well lit. I always come between late evening and late night, it's less crowded that way, and I have never had any issues while here. The machine prices are on-par or cheaper than most other laundromats in this area, and they always seem to be maintained in good condition. Machines that were out of order on one visit are usually fixed by next visit (I am here every 2-3 weeks). They also provide free WiFi.

So I get off the city bus at the Vancouver and Lombard stop with my laundry cart and a another big bag of laundry. On the bus you can't see the street sign, of course, but it is well marked on the building. I appreciated that. I'd heard that this laundry is 24 hours, so, I looked for confirmation of the hours on the front glass windows and doors. I looked on the walls. I looked on the bulletin hoard, walls and on the machines. I didn't want to ask the cranky attendant because he had already chastised me got not seeing the change machines. (They were right behind me when I scanned the store for them. I should have seen them.). So I go to the counter. , the attendant is maybe 10 feet from me and his back is turned, Me: Hello! Can you tell me if you're open 24 hours? Him: Me: I'm sorry to bother you, are you open 24 hours? Him (not turning around): Oh man. Him: (turning around) You didn't see the sign. Me: No, I didn't. Him: It's on the sign. Me; Is that a yes? Him: Look on the sign. Me: I didn't see a sign Him: It's out front. Me: (looking all over glass again) Where? Him: Out front. Me: I don't see a sign. Can't you just tell me? Him: Look on the sign there. (Points to the parking lot) Me: Me: The sign is under the bus stop. No where else does it say 24 hours. Him: Silent. I just walked out of the counter area. I really like this laundry. It's open 24 hours. It's clean, prices are good and they don't short your wash on water. But I'm not going to come back if they treat me so disrespectfully. I'll try it one more time. It's 830pm now. He can't work every shift!

Between 4 and 5 stars. The facilities are clean. The staff is excellent. I am writing this after I got home and not just because I was there and using their free wi-fi. They deserve good publicity.

The Alpine has one outstanding quality. This is a 24 hour facility! This allows for those sexy Saturday night laundry dates...lol. Seriously, the facility appears clean and the machines seem reasonably maintained. There was an attendant on duty. I did not like the fact that he seemed a little unreactive to a concern of a very strong natural gas smell. The main issue was the fact that after 9:30pm, the place was a little sketchy. That is not representative of the business though. There were sufficient carts and tables available. Overall, I would definitely return butvwould try to make it a day visit if at all feasible. In a pinch, or for a romantic evening of laundry, Alpine will definitely do the trick. Lastly, prices were in line with facilities of this nature with larger washers available.

Lets be honest with ourselves, machines break down. Even nice new ones. And at some laundry mats they say "too bad, use another one" but at his place, they'll replace any money lost and then detergent too. They keep the facility very clean, they have a TV, chairs and through a doorway a thrifty little spot you can poke through for random things like swearers and shorts. The people that work here are friendly and always willing to help. This location is near a Mexican restaurant and a corner store. In theory you can grab lunch, a drink watch an episode of something and get your laundry done all in a couple hours. Lastly, I like to say that they have a bunch of machines, plus they're open 24 hours. You're not likely to be stuck waiting for a machine.

Wow. I have dropped off laundry here before and it was a positive experience, however I am pretty upset right now at how rudely I was just treated. I will never go here again. The man at the counter said that I was "lucky he was still here he usually leaves early" and acted like I was a huge inconvenience. What a jerk.

Writing this whilst waiting for the laundry! Of course people need to wash their clothes during an extended vacation, so we headed here before we take off for home tomorrow. Out of all of the other laundry places that we've gone to on this trip, this one is the cleanest and has the most entertainment. Not only does this laundry place have magazines and books to read, it also has free Wi-Fi (using it right now, hehe) and a flat screen TV. In addition, this place is open for 24 hours and has a lot of washers and dryers of different sizes at your disposal. There are also two change machines, one of which gives you dollar bills for change if you don't feel like exchanging all of your bills into quarters. There is also always an employee there to help, which is nice. Another extension to the store is professional laundry services also! This place is great.

I was visiting in the Portland area, and needed to do some quick laundry. This place has efficient facilities, you just got to make sure that you are watching your clothes, or the owners will take it and put it in the back when your back is turned. Great people though!

Best laundromat I've been to in NOPO – After going to Lee's down the street and seeing a clotheless guy who apparently needed to get ALL of his laundry done, I decided to try Alpine. Though much smaller, Alpine had newer machines and they work really well. I didn't have any problems with the equipment not running the full time I paid for. They have a tv, free wi-fi, microwave and other stuff that is really beneficial for passing time. They're also open 24 hours which is really nice for me as I work nights.

This place is okay, but the machines did shrunk my clothes. It is near the liquor store and then a taco shop. The prices were not bad a little more than the ones in California. It does have internet wi fi, a nice hdtv, but it is definitely super hot in there. Met some interesting people here, but doing it on Alpine II, could not find it on yelp though.

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever received. The owner, David is rude and clearly doesn't care about customer service. They sent an inferior product and refused to make it right. I wish I would have read other online reviews before ordering from this company. They should be ashamed!

On July 4th, 2012 I realized my American flag-inspired bikini top was in the dirty laundry pile. Having just moved into a new house with no washer, I was panicked. This top was crucial for the celebration of freedom and without it I could no longer justify my jingoistic demeanor. So I hopped on Google Maps like a boss and saw Alpine 2 down the road. The place was bumpin. Despite it, there were still enough washers and dryers to accommodate everyone. I was not only able to wash my favorite bikini top, but I was also able to wash the blankets my cats peed on at the same time. Not sold? Keep reading. The walls at Alpine 2 are plastered in the most entertaining signs. I won't share any because the best part is reading them when you're bored. But it is unlikely you will be bored. There's a huge ass television at the back with a massage chair, a soda machine for carbonated sugar lovers, free WiFi, and even two computers for customer use. The BAMF owner is always there, strolling the aisles of machines reminding everyone to enter his drawing for a new bike and making casual chit chat. The best part of all? The coin machine is like a quarter bank, accepting dimes and nickels for broke mofos like me that have to scrounge between couch cushions just to wash socks. Pop a few of those sad puppies in and out your quarter will come. Obviously, if you're without a washer and dryer in your own home visit Alpine 2. Live in SW Portland? Who cares. Check it out. It's cleaner than my Filipino mother's kitchen.

Oh the life of someone who owns her own washer and dryer must be dull and boring. I mean, I spend about one evening every two weeks at the laundromat where I am witness to unruly children, people trying to rifle through the lost and found for free clothing, and most recently, some guy microwaving fish. Yeah, fish and fabric softener smell so great together. What do you do with your Friday nights huh? I go to Alpine because its well maintained, there's a nice flat screen TV with cable, computers with internet access, wi-fi, and the employees know how to usher the weirdoes out ASAP. This is one of the cleanest laundromats I've been to in Portland and its open 24 hours. Another place that is also open 24 hours: Javier's. Its right across the street, which means I can treat myself to a breakfast burrito for dinner (ham + eggs = love). Another thing I would like to mention for anybody debating over where to go in North Portland is that my clothes dry really well here. I pay a little extra to use the newer machines, but I think it also has something to do with how regularly they clean the lint filters. I appreciate how they keep an employee on duty most of the time and he's usually mopping the floors or making sure people aren't overloading/oversudsing machines. Besides the dude with the fish, the only other strange thing that has happened to me is that last time one of the employees gave me a Jehovah's Witness magazine, in Spanish. Okay then.

I'll give them one star for James the delivery guy, who is the sweetest person, even though he drags hugs bags of laundry around rainy Portland all day! The worst thing that has ever happened surrounds Alsco: Karen from accounting who is obviously deranged called literally multiple times a day harassing us for payment after my business moved. She was already annoyed b/c she had no way of getting ahold of me due to the month of shut I experience during my business move. Moving a business is hard you already have a lot of stresses you get behind. This Karen from book keeping didn't care she yelled, harassed and at one point threatened me, my employees. The final straw is when she called my business and my employee answered the phone. She asked her to hold b/c she was helping a customer and KAREN from Book Keeping refused! She continued to yell and cuss at my employee stating "if you don't give us money you'll be sorry" My employee muted her-ha ha! And helped customers, then let her know she was not the owner-HELLO!!! DO NOT YELL at employees of the business. Karen from book keeping is crazy! We sent a check in the mail last week and they should have it by now, but trying to tell a rabid woman that doesn't work. To be that way to anyone is not right! She should be fired or something. Tried to call Alsco to talk to someone & I re-routed all over the place....couldn't ever talk to any one.

Overpriced and hard to work with. Left voice mails requesting information/confirmation on canceling account. No response after 4 business days. Called back to confirm and was told cancellation requires a certified letter. They apparently want to make it as difficult as possible to cut the apron strings and are operating in the stone ages -- phone call, email, fax, hand-delivery of letter is not accepted. Do NOT recommend.

I took a vintage garment that had been damaged by dry-cleaning to have it repaired. Alexsandra, the owner had very poor communication about the exact timeline and what exactly she would repair and what she wouldn't. Had to call her repeatedly to inquire about the status, she kept offering a timeline then not honoring it. Finally I got the garment back and put it on me and it literally fell apart. When I took it back to ask for a refund (she charged $$$ by the way) she took NO responsibility for this shotty job and tried to hide behind semantics. Seems like she tried to cut corners for her own poor time management. What a completely unprofessional way to conduct business. How do you stay in business, Alexsandra?

During a recent stay with my sister in NoPo, I had the inconvenience of not having access to our own washer and dryer so I had to brave the laundromat. Due to work hours I wasn't able to do any laundry until after 10pm so I was thankful to find Alpine! They always have a ton of open machines, free wifi, free phone, and a flat screen tv. If you can just look past the shady peeps (go with a friend!), this place is ideal for a convenient place to wash and dry your laundry.

Oh yeah.... wifi, plus tv for viewing... and also a 24 hour facility... sure it's ugly and yes, it can be full of hooligans and sketchies, but hey.... it was super close to home, and I confess now, I would wash all of my home rugs and foot traffic protectors and dump 'em in the large washers here, and spare both my motor from premature demise, and my washer from dirt!!! This place was just darn handy... nothing fancy, but did the trick. If you're careful with attention, you will spot a scene in the movie Wendy and Lucy starring Michelle Williams (of Ledger hook-up fame from Cold Mtn) where she gets off the Tri-Met bus and booom!!!!! a panned shot of this exact intersection of Lombard and Vancouver.. on the silver screen. I beamed when I saw it (nearly brought some tears to my eyes, it did..) Boy was that a raw exploration of utter loneliness and it pained me to watch it... Also, good shots of the Walgreens on N Lombard in Kenton and that fab old building that rents out rooms is clearly visible in the film as well... let's see...corner of N Russet and Peninsular... OOOOHH! There's also great shots of the Shell gas station on Lombard and N Interstate as well... she gets washed up inside the station bathroom. Um... sorry for the digression?

Oh laundry, how I loathe thee. There are several reasons I would want to be rich: 1) Never wash dishes again 2) Drink excessively without having to drive 3) Never set foot in a laundromat for as long as I live After years of having a washer/dryer in my apartment I moved to a place without **gasp** laundry access. I told myself it would be no big deal and laundromats aren't all that bad. This would be one of the few times in my life where I was incorrect. So after procrastinating by spending time with friends at bars and dreading that nuisance of an errand, it was time to hit the laundromat. Good thing there's Alpine Laundry open 24 hours. Win! You would think a place carrying the same hours and convenience as 7-Eleven would charge just a smidgen more for this service but you would be incorrect. You might also think it would be dirty, dark and dingy but this would also be a false assumption. The place is actually very well-lit and clean with modern machines that even tell you how much time you have left in the wash. Does it end there? No! The place offers free Wi-Fi and they even have computers available for free! So how am I killing time while waiting for my laundry? I'm writing this Yelp review. Is there more I could write? Absolutely! Unfortunately, it's time to switch my three loads. I might even watch some of this crappy Robin Williams movie that's playing. Wait no, ew.

I have been taking my dogs here for 20 years...wow. I just did the math and amazed myself. I love these ladies, and I have always been happy with the outcome of the visits my dogs have had. and I have taken everything in from a Malamute to a Toy Poodle...currently a Rat Terrier for nail trimming. I honestly can't think of taking my dogs any place else. They are reasonably priced, friendly, and have been in the business for a very long time.

I can symathise with some pet owners that are to busy to brush their dogs on a regular basis but to compare it to cleaning before the maid comes is totally ridiculus... Regular maintence inbetween grooming is an important part of owning a dog. When your matted dog goes to a groomer brushing and dematting is uncomfortable and can be very painful. Not to mention unpleasent for the groomer. As Groomers we do not want to hurt your dog. This can be aviodable by maintaining your pet or sceduling appointments sooner. DO you brush your hair in between salon visits?? If you didn't she would charge for her extra time also.

If you're in a bind and need your laundry done for you quickly and well, this place is great if you are in the neighborhood. 85 cents/lb of laundry is the best deal I've found in NoPo. The only draw back is that they wouldn't take credit or check for the service. Other than that, if you are need of a fluff and fold type situation, this is as good as any.
