I think sandy may have used to be a good instructor. After a few lessons I realized that I shouldn't drive with her anymore. If you are looking for someone with patience she is not it. She really needs to retire and stop being a driving instructor. She has a lot of migraines and pain from teaching people how to drive over the years and today when I was going driving with her she already started yelling at me so I told her I couldn't drive with her today. I will be looking for a new instructor that is not dealing with what she is dealing with because every time she would yell at me like I was a child all my confidence left and I could not drive well at all. If you are looking for a good driving instructor with patience she is not it. She is very rude and if you do not believe me drive with her and see for yourself. Edit: PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS INSTRUCTOR YOU WERE WARNED!!!! MORE THAN LIKELY EVERYONE ELSE WAS PAID TO GIVE A POSITIVE REVIEW!!!
I second Puja. She was not being racist to me but she was giving instruction with the same voice as somebody would scream. As soon as i got inside the car she made some remarks which she thought i will not hear. Overall it was a very bad experience. I also thought of instructor with a very calm composure but she was nothing like that. Never ever taking any more class. A waste of $43. She made remarks like "you should follow my instruction instead of asking question" when i asked her none. There were several remarks like that but all hell brokee loose when we were on a freeway and she told me to change lane. I saw a huge truck and i thought i will change the lane when the truck pass. But she started screaming that it is my car and you do as i say and many other stuff while also stomping her feet. I told her thats it i am done and not taking any more class with you , to that she replied that she is glad i am doing this. Yes, she also said she hopes my husband knows how to drive . I didnt force her to come and give me the driving lesson. The time was decided by her but she behaved as if she wants to be in any other place than be there.
I was looking forward to my first lesson with Sandi, she has great reviews on Yelp (just one negative review on Google+) and I was hoping for a positive experience. Now I'm realizing that I should have paid closer attention to that one negative review. Sandi is erratic, she was constantly yelling and grabbing the steering wheel during our time together. Maybe she was qualified to be a driving school teacher once upon a time, but she needs to have her certification revoked.
Sandie is an excellent instructor n has so much knowledge on how driving tests are conducted at various centers. It really helped taking her classes. I not only passed the driving test but also became a very good n safe driver because of her. Would recommend her to anyone looking to pass the test n be the best driver he can.
This is a perfect place where you can totally make sure to pass the test after practicing with Sandi. She is just so pro and familiar with the procedures. What she tells you is all the significant stuff in the test. I called her two days before my test, and she totally helped me out with the details that I never noticed. And I passed my test!! For my first time!! It was awesome experience!!
My daughter had finished her behind the wheel lessons but I wasn't really satisfied with them. I got Sandi's contact info from a friend who used her. She is great. She knows the Garland DPS test routes and is great at teaching parking including parallel. My daughter passed her test with a 97 thanks to Sandi's help.
All Indians beware !!!!! This lady so called Sandy is such a person that you just cannot tolerate her. Please do not use this driving school at all. She is rude and passes some nasty comments all the time when you are driving. She is such a racist that she keeps commenting "dont drive like an Indian drive like an American" ; But she has forgotten the fact that Indian can easily drive in US since its a piece of cake but Americans can never drive in India. I love this country but ppl like Sandi make this place hell. She also commented personally on my husband and yelled that he taught you wrong. Who is she to comment on my husband. My husband can so much better drive than her.She took three classes but i did not learn anything from her except for some tips which i appreciate she gave me. Ok i agree that while driving she needs to be strict but she does not know what is difference being strict and racist/rude.She is such an ugly person. Her words stinks like her car.Her car is so damaged and not in condition.I really wonder how the above people have given such good reviews.Frankly she is the worst person i have ever met. Its not that i am writing the review without informing her . I have told the same words to her directly. Its time she realize how to behave with people around her. I highly recommend " DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING SCHOOL" " IT SUCKS". The trainer , the car and her charges.
I had an awesome experience learning how to drive with Sam at ATD in 2008. He was laid back, personal and taught me the ins-and-outs of driving -- including how to parallel park in just one session! I passed my test and got my license on the first try and have been safely cruising roads and highways all across the country ever since. I highly recommend Around Town Driving to anyone who needs to learn how to operate a vehicle - whether teen or adult, ATD has you covered. They really take the fear and nervousness out of driving, thank you for teaching me one of the most important life skills needed to get by in this modern world!
I recently moved to Dallas from NYC and wanted to get some practice for my rusty highway driving skills. Sandi and I hit it off while she took me on a few practice loops around 75 and gave me some very useful general information about driving and driving safety. Additionally, her rates are *very* reasonable compared to any of the other driving instructors in the area. I would definitely recommend her!
My name is Lucie Barrois, I am 19 years old and I am from Paris, France. When I first started taking driving lessons with Sandi, I had never driven out in the streets before. I immediately felt comfortable with her by my side and it helped to know that she had an emergency brake. She gave me a lot of confidence behind the wheel. The stories she tells you while driving are entertaining and it is a good way to practice multi-tasking! When Sandi teaches you she is loud and clear with her words. She will make sure that you understand her instructions and will keep repeating them until you do it right. I enjoyed my driving lessons with her, and she prepared me really well for the driving test that I passed with a grade of 93.
UpdateFinally I got my Lic :)Thanks Sandi for your great help and your professional work .My advice for who's going for road test and looking for training is to look for a restricted trainer like sani that can improve your skill for a restricted and hard road test. Thanks with regards,

hb took car there on Monday for windshield chip repair & free carwash. The attendant directed my hb to back out the car to get on the carwash tracks. He kept motioning to back out until he hit the car waiting behind him! The next day, I noticed a few drops of resin on the windshield. I told the asst. mgr I needed it removed. When I got home to take pics, turns out the resin was underneath the lip of the hood, on the windshield wiper and plastic cover, and THE HOOD! THESE WEREN'T DROPS BUT LINES. Took the car in immediately the next day. The guy responsible for the repair scrubbed the resin off for 45 mins until he had to leave bc his SHIFT WAS OVER. The car still had resin on it & he managed to damage the plastic wiper cover. The mgr offered 2 free car washes which we'll never use. When we told him about the leftover resin and the damage to the cover, he sd it wouldn't affect the car's value (08 MBenz). This was the dirtiest carwash I've ever gotten. Tirespray on body & dirty rims!
These guys provide an awesome service for a great price. The guy who made sure that I received a good job was Gary. You might want to ask for him the next time you are there. They detailed every aspect of my car in an expedient manner. At one time I saw as many as 4 people working on my car at the same time to get it out quickly. Good price, Good service, Fast turn-around... how can you beat that?
I recently visited JP Importz Inc and I was very pleased. My engine light was on and I was concerned about the price. I contacted Sewell and they quoted me a much higher price than JP Importz...I was unable to take off from work Monday-Friday and JP Importz was able to schedule a Saturday appointment. I was in and out in no time and the customer service was awesome. I highly recommend JP Importz.
My mom has a IS300 Lexus. Dealership quoted $1,200 for repairs. JPI did the work she needed for $289 I couldnt believe the dealership my mother bought the car from wanted so much for work we assumed would be covered... (Show All) I couldnt believe the dealership my mother bought the car from wanted so much for work we assumed would be covered under warranty!! Do they always suggest to repair more than the problem? My mother almost made a $1,000.00 error in judgement. Jason just made a loyal customer out of us! Too bad he is in Garland. The drive from Grand Prairie is alot for me. She is in Plano.... easy for her!
