I have used Yelp for many things , my plumber and heating and air is not one of them. I have been a customer since before Yelp was invented. I recommend them to friends and family always, all my friends and family that use this company, I have never been anything but happy with their work! They are professional , and will work around your scedual to get your job done right, thank you Benjemin Franklin , Kevin , and all who are behind the scenes making it happen! Rob Parsons was our plumber today that answered our call to determine the condition of a leak in a drain in our wall. Great guy, answered all our questions and gave us a report on the process. A drain from our tub upstairs is in an external wall and will need the usual testing and then the repairs will be done and the insurance company will get the details.We have used Ben Franklin before and had good re pore and service. Knowledgeable and prompt.

Worst plumbing experience ever! Worst customer service. I heard about Benjamin Franklin plumbing from a friend and I should have read their reviews. Made an appointment with a sweet man over the phone. Said the fee to come asses was $69 and if they did the work it would be credited to me. I asked how much it would cost to unclog my toilet and he said he couldn't give quotes over the phone but it shouldn't cost more than $150. Fair enough. Scheduled an appt between 3-5. They called at 3:30 to tell me they couldn't make it until at least after 6 but couldn't give a time. Rescheduled for first appt next morning 8-11. Why did I now get a 3 hr window when I had a 2 hour window yesterday? Asked them to try and come as early as possible and was assured they would tell the tech and he should be there by 9. Well 10 rolls around and no technician. I call to check his eta and the not so nice any more "sweet man" is full of attitude. Clearly this isn't his first rodeo. He could care less at this point. Says his tech is getting supplies and won't be there til at least 11. Supplies for what? He doesn't even know what's wrong yet? Whatever. I decided to still give them a shot. Guy that showed up was a dick. Tells me that there are 2 possibilities and recommends we change the valve into the toilet for $265. Try's to add on the $69 that was supposed to go towards the job. Are you kidding me? Guess what? Problem not fixed. All he did was use a $20 part and unscrew one thing. Tries to charge an additional $300 to fix the other part on a brand new toilet. I ended up getting the part at Home Depot for $11 and doing the job myself. This company is a scam. Now wonder they have 3 Yelp accounts. Clearly they are trying to hide their horrible reviews. What ever happened to integrity? This is a horrible company. You've been warned.

We have lived in Laguna Woods for almost a year, and there was something odd about how our washing machine was working. We called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and they were able to get us a same day appointment. Although the appointment window was between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., Sara and Sean arrived early which was a plus. When I explained our issue, Sara took a look behind the washer. Sure enough, the hot and cold water hoses were connected in reverse. After making the correct connections, Sara and Sean ran a test wash. Everything worked as it should. Thanks to Sara and Sean, we can now get an actual cold water wash! When the need arises, we will definitely call Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and hopefully get Sara again.

Very professional team. Lawrence the plumber was very respectful and knowledgeable: put slippers over his shoes, explained procedures thoroughly to me, and even cleaned up my tub after unclogging my drain. Wow! He also replaced 2 shut off valves under my sink that were frozen or leaking. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pricing is higher than I expected and I think the pricing should have been discussed before any service was started. The pricing for the valves were discussed but only after my drain was already cleared. So I was already stuck with a service charge I thought was too expensive. It's always best to take the initiative and ask first before anyone is sent out. However, this company will get the job done right.

Thank you for answering your phone, sending a plumber immediately, and for doing the work well! Our reg. plumber was swamped so we tried your company and were VERY pleased. We are in a new rental property and do not know the house very well. Our kitchen sink was backing up and the upstairs tub was not working properly. We soo much appreciate the reasonable fee and the quick response. We will definitely be using B Franklin plumbing again. We really liked Kevin Bueno who did the work for us. Thank you! Arrived on time and performed the hot water heater safety check and also checked the discharge sewer pipe to the street with an in the pipe camera, an extra check at no charge. Also checked all faucets. Highly recommended.

Crazy. Charged $684 for 30 minutes work. Including $185 difficult access fee. I had the wall opened up, insulation cleaned. All they had to do was cut out a 12 inch piece and sweat it. BTW. They have franchises and they don't warranty franchise work. No one could be worse.

I was in a tough spot with a water heater acting up during memorial day weekend while having a newborn and a toddler at home and a wife still recovering after giving birth. I was lucky enough to receive help from Robert Parsons and Lawrence Acuna. Both Robert and Lawrence were extremely professional, personable and compassionate about my situation. They were both very keen to get things working ASAP knowing that I had a family in need of a prompt solution. Lawrence spent several hours troubleshooting the issue, went above and beyond to contact the manufacturer to verify warranty status and continued to pursue a same day repair, even when it looked like we were going to have to be without hot water for several days. Lawrence called up Robert, who was able to find the parts needed to do the repair the same day. Robert was extremely knowledgeable, courteous and didn't mind having to work an extra longer shift to get the repairs done for me on the same day. Lawrence also stuck around the whole time to ensure that everything was resolved. Both being parents themselves, I could tell that both Lawrence and Robert were genuinely concerned about my family's well being and did everything on their hands to get me back up and running during a busy holiday weekend. My family and I can't thank you enough. Thanks for your professionalism and kindness!

So I got talked into a 3 year maintenance contract called Home Protection Club. And I am glad I did. My first visit by a Hot Water Heater Specialist, Lawrence Acuna, was very informative and gave me a piece of mind on the health of my plumbing. After replacing the anode rod and flushing the tank, Lawrence took the time to check all faucets, clean aerators, unclog a bathroom sink trap, and even took pictures of the sewer line. All A OK. I will be using Benjamin Franklin for my future plumbing services.

Not only is she knowledgeable but also very polite, personable and a pleasure to work with. The company provided excellent service as well. These Guys came right out to clean up someone else's mess (Goldstar) . When I was thrown a Bait and Switch for a Water Heater Issue. Jerry was very prompt and professional. I signed a service agreement because I was so impressed. You get what you Pay for!

First time I've Yelp'd a plumbing company but these guys deserve it. When someone does an excellent job they should get the credit as much as the crummy companies that do poor quality work. My solar hot water system hadn't been working for years and we wanted it removed. From the initial phone to the completion of the job they were totally professional. Sara was the plumber/estimator that came to my house. She was on time and knowledgeable. I accepted their estimate (which was very fair) to remove the solar panel, hot water heater, remove all related pipes (in the garage and off the house) and haul it all away. The next morning they came in like a well run swat team led by Kevin and got to work. Very professional crew and did excellent work (including clean up), on -time and on budget, In fact they did a little extra work without asking for more money. I could not have asked for a better experience. They exceeded my expectations. I've dealt with a LOT of contractors, including plumbing companies and they are as good as I've seen. My sincere thanks to the entire Benjamin Plumbing team.

I have been using Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for awhile now and i have gotten good service but not enough to write a review on there service tech's. But on Friday 1/15/16 i had one of the best tech's come to my house and do some pipe rerouting his name was Richard Reed. He really took the time to explain to me what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. I felt so comfortable with him in my house that i felt i could leave him at my house for awhile while i went out and did some errands. When he got done he showed me what he did and clean up all the mess he made and left my house looking just as good as when he came. So i am writing this review to let Benjamin Franklin Plumbing know what a great and valuable tech they have in Richard Reed so i hope he does get some kind of acknowledgement for his great work ethic. When i call them from now on i going to request Richard. Thank you Benjamin Franklin for hiring a great employee.

I had Sherlonda doing maintenance for my water heater. She was very knowledgable and professional, pointed out to the problem that she noticed, explained the importance of the timely prevention of a bigger issue. I followed her advice and she quickly completed the service. Before Sherlonda even started she checked the water pressure in the main line and pointed out on the absence of the water pressure controller and on the possible leak. She emphasized the importance of having functioning controller. She called another technician for help in the search for the leak. Sara arrived very quickly and shared with me her extensive knowledge about pressure controllers and how they work. She identified the leak location to be in the yard and gave her recommendations on the water pressure installation. She followed up the next day with a special discount she negotiated with the owner for me. Both technicians were very knowledgable, professional, courteous. Overall quality of service is excellent

I called to get an estimate. They diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor , that part was good. Then the sales started THAT WAS WHY I WAS THERE NOT MY WIFE . He thought that I was like everybody else that he serviced but I know how sometimes places over charge for work or recommend work to be done that is not necessary. I was told that my capacitor needed to be replaced and that the whole electrical panel needed to be rebuilt it would be $850- so I called a friend and he said that my electrical panel was ok if no wires were burnt. I was lucky my capacitor lasted 15 years an that I should see how much it would be to install and how much one would be on ebay, usually they are $15 - $25. The tech said $325 to install with part and kept telling me that I could die from doing it myself. I asked if I TURNED THE BREAKER OFF and DISCHARGED THE CAPACITOR that should eliminate that worry but he kept saying that I could die from doing it myself after explaining my procedure to him, which is not the truth Because there would be no electricity to the unit OR STORED IN IT . I found a capacitor on ebay for $20 shipped and it took 5 minutes to install (one screw) BE WARE OF THIS COMPANY THEY RECOMMEND WORK THAT DOES NOT NEED TO BE DONE AND WILL TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND GO TO THE NEXT GUY AND DO IT AGAIN look on you-tube it shows how to repair air conditioners they are not to hard to do. The tech took the capacitor out when I could not remember the numbers and when I asked him to put it back he told me $260- to replace it or go look at my schematic an it would be on there . I asked him several times to put it back and he keep telling me to look at my schematic. I called the office to talk to the owner but was told that he would not be back until Monday and he would call me then. ( I am still waiting on that call 6 DAYS LATER ) I got on the on the roof the next day when I got the part and the schematic was gone. Somehow it ended up in my neighbors yard and was soaked . I am not accusing any one of anything but the tech was the ONLY one to get it to the unit the entire time that I have it .The tech also told that I needed to top off my Freon which is another money making misrepresentation because if you need it topped off you have a leak and it needs to be fixed . If your air is cold you do not need Freon . I will never use this company again and go ABB ANY BUT BEN !!

We had a leak in our shower faucet and I called several plumbers. They were the quickest to respond and the friendliest. Our leak was fixed and faucet replaced quickly. The plumber was friendly and explained the problem. I will definitely use them again!

Sherlonda came out to service my water heater. She noticed a problem with the valve to drain the heater, so she called for backup. Saul, came out and they were able to drain the heater. It appears that there was some buildup at the bottom of the tank, so I decided to go ahead and replace the 11 year old unit. They had everything needed to do the job. Both Sherlonda and Saul were friendly and professional. I have dealt with this office before and they have always done great work. I do recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Benjamin Franklin plumbing via phone when I discovered water leaking from a wall in my garage. My first contact was very positive as the gentleman handling the call was very polite and professional and arranged for a plumber to come to my house later that same afternoon to have a look. Once he arrived, he informed me that there would be a $545 leak detection fee along with an approximate $600 fee to repair the leak. When I pointed out that it was pretty clear where the leak was coming from, he said that if he found the leak quickly he would not have to charge me the $545 detection fee, which he did not. However, once he began working he then told me that because the leaky pipe was in a "hard to reach place" (which it did not appear to be) there would be an "additional cost." Upon finishing the work approximately two hours later he handed me a bill for $1100!! When I questioned why the cost was so high he said, "I told you there would be an additional cost." When I said that $1100 seemed excessive for roughly two hours of work he said that it was not. To add insult to injury he also told me that my existing copper piping was "cheap" and that I should replace it all and he provided me an estimate for nearly $7,000 just for the piping in the garage. The following week I called a different plumber to get a second estimate: when he examined the pipes he told me they were fine and there was no need to replace them. When I told him that another plumber told me I needed to replace the pipes he laughed and said there was absolutely no reason to do so. When I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing to request a price adjustment they told me they would look into it, and then they never followed up even though I called and texted them repeatedly. To put this entire experience into context, I have never written a negative review of a company before but my experience with them was so negative I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND I STRONGLY CAUTION OTHERS AGAINST DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AS WELL.

The pricing structure for this company is very unclear. They say $59 for the visit and to diagnose, but that is only to visually look at the issue. We were essentially having to commit to nearly $1,000 worth of possible work, before they even cut the hole in the ceiling to assess. We just felt the pricing structure was way too vague and too large of a range to commit to. The technician was very nice, but we didn't feel comfortable committing ourselves to a large amount for a repair without even knowing how bad the issue was first.

We're very satisfied with the services provided by our plumber, Michael, from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. After an initial assessment of the leak in our kitchen sink, Michael informed us that there was internal damage/corrosion. After buying a sink of our choice from an outside supplier, Michael came back and installed our new sink with ease and pure professionalism. He is very patient and informative with everything, responding to all my questions and concerns in a timely manner. I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, especially Michael. His services are professional and trustworthy and I will definitely call them again in the future with any other plumbing issues.

I can't say enough about this company. They have done a lot of work in my home and I found them to be very trustworthy. They will explain the problem and offer suggestions without scaring you into making a decision. This time around Michael was the technician (with a helper). They fixed a leak, swapped out 2 faucets (one most troublesome) and fixed my leaky outdoor spigot. They were friendly and professional. I would recommend them to my friends!

I was extremely please with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Michael V looked at the toilet issue and could not finad any reason it had leaked a few days ago. We discussed the situation and decided to have a new ring and caulking in case that could be the problem. We were not pressured to do anything not required. He indicated that if it was still and issue he would come back and repair it again. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

Nick at Benjamin Franklin was a huge help to me during a difficult situation. I was staying at my father's house to make arrangements shortly after he passed away when the ~50 year old main sewer line backed up. Nick and his team walked me through each step of their investigation and explained what was needed to address the problem before it grew into something that would require digging up the street. Even though it was a big job, they made sure they could complete it before I had to leave town and go back home. Nick also walked me around the house and explained the repairs that he had performed for my dad over the last year or so. He showed me how to shut off the water for the whole house, how to turn off the gas to the water heater, and helped me understand the basics of how the plumbing worked and where it was located. He pointed out the areas that didn't need repair at the moment but that would soon wear out (old cast iron pipes) so I would know what to expect down the line. It was clear from listening to Nick and his team work that they knew what they were doing and cared about doing the job well. Jennifer in the office was also very helpful in making sure they could get someone out to the house quickly. Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally helpful and kind and more importantly, I trust them.

This place is bait/switch and fraud. They were advertising an $89 "Big Deal" on Angie's List for a faucet installation. I needed this for a vanity I had recently put in. I called up Angie's List to make the purchase (I called b/c I had to talk to them about an unrelated membership matter anyway). The rep put me on hold, saying he needed to call them to verify my home was in their service range. He came back on and said that the representative at Ben Franklin's Plumbing told him that I am in their area and that the their $59 for $150 of work was more appropriate for this job. Didn't make sense, but not going to argue if they don't want to charge as much, right? Well, I soon learned what the catch was. The con. I was at work when they showed up. My wife was there alone and let the plumber in. I got a call from her and him shortly afterwards stating that it was actually, including my $150 credit, over $450 for a simple complete faucet install!!! I told my wife to just let him hook up the drain part only and to not pay them any extra and that I would take the matter up with them later. Well, in response (after work done and he was ready to leave) the plumber told my wife (who was still there alone with him) that he "couldn't leave unless he had been paid" $92 (this is on top of the $59 for $150 deal I had already bought and paid for). This thinly veiled intimidation naturally intimidated my wife, who paid him the extra money. Later, when I called Ben Franklin to discuss the matter, the receptionist who answered said she remembered my house and the conversation with Angie's List re: the $89 vs. $59 deal. She said the manager would call me back. A manager called me back shortly afterwards. He denied everything, except the part about the plumber saying he would not leave my house without being paid. He denied that the receptionist (who he said no longer worked there) told Angie's List to sell me the $59 Deal instead of the $89 Deal. He said Angie's List must have lied to me (or that I was a liar). Oddly, he tried to simultaneously justify it. When I told him that the receptionist who just answered said she is the one who took that call, he denied that too (again, I guess I must have imagined it). The call basically went nowhere. He refused to take any responsibility for anything or to provide any remedy.

Technician quoted me almost $400 for labor on a water heater, whereas another company ended up charging $150. Then he tried to sell me on a $2,000 new water heater that another company said would be $1,300. Get a 2nd opinion.

That Benjamin Franklin plumbing is by far the nicest fastest and most reliable plumber I ever come to know. The company actually helped me out as a single-parent and did some work for me absolutely free -unto a donation as charity!!!and I am so so grateful!! Thank you to everyone at Benjamin franklin plumbing who has helped me with my plumbing emergency and shown me such kindness-as strangers I did not expect what I received from your company So thank you very much from the bottom of my heart.
