Kusina Filipina
Not Rated
Description
It is our intent to have a place where we can gather to celebrate and be reminded of the distinct greatness of the Filipino values, cultures and traditions. In our small ways, we would like to help our “kababayans” recapture the good memories of home, and give our non-Filipino friends a glimpse of who we are. Influenced by the cuisine of Philippines, our food is served as filipino style called "turo-turo" which is reminiscent of a buffet spread for fiestas and celebrations in the Philippines. We are very informal place where you may dine-in or take your food. Since we open in 2014, we at Kusina Filipina, try our best to be as true and as authentic as we can to offer flavorful dishes that reminds memories of home. Come and join us!

“Get the Horchata con Espresso IMMEDIATELY! I doubted it, but it's deliciousness cannot be denied. Their horchata is made at the cafe with a delicate blend of pumpkin pie spices. At least that's how it tastes to a novice. An adorable neighborhood atmosphere that goes easy on the hipster. It's a place for people who want amazing coffee...and obviously do not have jobs. Why are they hunched over their laptops at 2pm on a Wednesday? Guess that's a story for another day. ”

“Crazy hipster happy hour! I'm not going to hate on this hipster haven because I had my birthday party here and they have a photo booth. Happy hour every day from 5-9pm with $2 PBRs and $2.50 well drinks. All night happy hour on Sundays that also offer $3.50 citrus bloody marys. Spicy! ”

“This place has been here since the beginning of time, so their sandwiches have been perfected. On Fridays at 8 (until the end of October) come for live music and drink specials at the ale & sandwich bar. I wonder if I could get one of those bars installed in my home. ”

“Seasonal rustic happy hour - jackpot! Get cheap and fancy eats for a quarter of the price: truffle mac and cheese ($7), build your own pizza ($10) and mahi mahi fish n chips ($7). Enjoy $4 beers and $5 wines with your grub. The view of the water isn't bad either. ”

“$4.75 very strong margaritas during happy hour (every day from 4-7pm). You don't even have to order food because they keep the chips and salsa flowing. If food does strike your fancy, I would recommend the hard shell chicken tacos. Greasy and delicious to balance the sweet and potent margarita. ”

“An Umami Burger is a lot like Kimora Lee Simmons - juicy, rare and pretty expensive. But from 3-7pm Monday thru Friday and 10pm-close Friday and Saturday, you can get their Smash Burger for $5 and craft beers and wines for $4. Anytime I eat a burger, it's Happy Hour. Yum! ”

“On Wino Wednesdays get half off all wine by the bottle. They also offer a dine and ride deal to the Greek Theater. My advice is have a delicious meal and take their shuttle. I'd rather be drunk and driven than sober and dealing with stack parking. ”

“The only thing better than the drinks is the jukebox. But enjoy the music every day between 5-9pm during Happy Hour. $3 well drinks, $5 premium beers and eats (burgers, fries, pizza) between $2-$8. Who doesn't want to be wasted by 9pm?! I could be set back by 8. ”

“$5 can't buy you love (well, it depends what part of the city you're in), but it can buy you any glass of wine, well drink, draft beer, specialty cocktail or appetizer at Public Kitchen during happy hour. Between 3-7pm on weekdays, I can afford to be drunk in public without bringing my own booze. I'll drink to that!”

“No one likes an obligation brunch - an acquaintance getting engaged, a colleague having a baby. I may show up, but I don't care. I have to coax out my sentimental side by ordering Luna Park's bottomless mimosas or sangria for $13.50 on Saturday or Sunday. Another option is the 2 for 1 bloody marys. After an hour, I'm crying in my goat cheese fondue and forcing the waiter to take my number. Still hopeful this one will call...”
