While showering this morning I caught my diamond earring and it popped off and went down the drain. I was devastated as they were a gift from my husband who is now deceased and I have worn them for 27 years. Stan inquired if they were valuable or sentimental because the cost may not be worth it. I explained that they were both. He said a plumber would be out as soon as possible. He followed up saying one was on his way. 20 minutes after arriving he retrieved the earring much to my surprise. Very prompt service and understanding of my situation. I definitely would have them again.
Hi, my name is Stan Davies. I am the owner at Capitol Plumbing Co. Wanted to let readers of the reviews listed to be wary of online reviews. For instance, the review from Sam Kwiatkowski is a flat out lie. I asked him the brand of softener when he called, said he didn't know so I told him that was fine and that we would take a look at it. I sent a plumber out who determined it was a brand of softener we had no access to parts for. My plumber left after advising him on what we thought were his best options and he was NOT CHARGED ONE PENNY! As to the review from Justus B, again not true. They had called and asked to have a plumber repair a leak. They never requested a bid. We have NEVER done bids on repair work and on leaky water heaters we offer a quote over the phone. When the plumber went to the job, he assessed the leak and advised them what they needed and then told them the cost up front. They had us leave after performing this service, telling us they wanted to think about it. It is a sad statement to our current value system when we think it's o.k. to post things on line whether true or not simply because we think we have an anonymity implied. Thank you for reading this post.
Capitol Plumbing has been our sole plumbing contractor for more than 15 years. We have hired them for everything from minor repair issues to installation of fixtures and appliances, to major bathroom remodeling projects. They are professional, and in our opinion, artists in the practice of plumbing installation. The jobs are not only completed in a timely fashion, the workmanship reflects thoughtf...
My name is Jim Richardson and when we moved almost 3 years ago we wanted to update a lot of things on our new home. I had never used Capitol Plumbing before. Now almost 3 years later they have done several things for us. The are very prompt, professional, always clean up behind themselves, come after hours or Saturdays just to make our lives better. There employs are the best we have ever seen period. We have also grown to like the employs and Stan as they are much above just a 5 star rating. I very highly recommend them to any and everyone.
Extremely dissatisfied. Called because we thought our water softener wasn't working properly and was looking for someone to come take a look at it. Asked if they wanted to know the brand and they said it didn't really matter they could come out. They send someone out and he tells us they don't service that brand and all he can do is test our water hardness to see if the water is soft. Had to directly ask him to even take the cover off of the softener to see if he thought it was serviceable before he would even touch the thing. Even then all he said was "yeah it might be repairable but we won't work on it". Then charges us $90 and leaves. Could have had a hardness test done for free at the local hardware store. If they would have told me they don't service our brand from when I called I never would have had them come out.
Over the last 11 years, they have rooted our main drain, put in a water heater, replaced three different faucets, and fixed a clog we couldn't get at with our own tools. Fast, friendly, honest plumbers doing quality work at a good price. Once they fix a problem, it's fixed. You can trust Capitol: they respect their customers, and deserve their customers' respect.
Thank you. Just wasted a week waiting to hear back from them. Started off great becasue they were willing to come out on Sat to start the quoting. I was told that they would get back to me with a quote on Monday and do the work Wednesday morning. So Monday and nothing, then Tuesday and nothing. So i call and was told that they will get back to me first thing Wednesday morning. Wednesday came and nothing, Thursday came and nothing, Friday came and nothing. It 10pm Sat. So Monday I get to call a new company and start the process over again. And what pissed me off the most is I could not have made it any more clear to them that i need the work done by May 23rd becasue the house was sold. Waste of a week! How do you get offered work and just never call or show up. Not ever a sorry we are not interested in the work. What a joke!
We scheduled an appointment with Capital Plumbing in Madison for a new hot water heater. They had installed our last hot water heater 13 years ago and we were satisfied with their work and pricing. The day before the plumber was scheduled to arrive, we tried to dispose of some old Metamucil down the kitchen drain and it clogged our drain. The plumber installed the new hot water heater in no time and proceeded to unclog the kitchen sink drain. "Do not attempt to dispose of Metamucil down a drain," Throw it in the garbage. Jeff the plumber from Capital City certainly went the extra mile for us to unclog our drain and even had to run some new plastic drain piping to remedy our mistake. We were afraid to open their bill, but the billing was more than fair and we will recommend Capital Plumbing in Madison to all of our friends and neighbors.
Today was the third time we've used Capitol Plumbing in the last three years and I couldn't be much happier. Prompt, friendly, quick, tidy and effective! They come when they are needed. Today that was just an hour after I first called. Stan had said they would be here within an hour to hour and a half, but they got here in an hour and jumped right into the job of replacing some clogged cast and galvanized drain fittings in the basement. The job took less than an hour, and the problem was solved, the area cleaned up, and after a friendly "thanks and have a great day" all done. I can't comment on cost because I neglected to ask, but they've been very fair in the past. One of the plumbers was Doug, and I didn't catch the other guy's name, but they did great work. By the way, I like businesses where they answer the phone with the company name and the person's name. Thanks Stan, keep up the great job!
Called this morning after I noticed my outside spigot was leaking and frozen. Stan was very friendly and sent a team within 30 minutes. The two guys who arrived were great and finished the repair quickly. The talked to me in advance of doing any work and even provided cost estimates. Discussed options were and helped me decide the best course. The cost was reasonable and I will definitely call again if I need plumbing work.
We've had Capitol Plumbing out at our place twice now, and each time they surpass our expectations. We've been truly pleased with the friendly, prompt, reasonably priced service. They even answer the phone after 5pm on a Friday, and show up the next day first thing! I will definitely recommend them to friends & family.
company came over to fix a kitchen sink-- They acted professional but the service man forgot his tools in his truck. This mistake cause them to bill for more time than was actually used for service time. I as a customer feel that I should not have to pay for time that a employee failled to bring required items into fix a sink. When I called to complain about this issue I was told I was wrong to complain. The company than in writting sent me a rebilling in which they called me a Douche Bag. This is how they treat a customer who complains
