I dropped Allstate three months ago yet I’m still getting survey requests from this agency, lol!🤦🏼♂️ The agency is great! I always got answers to my questions either in the same phone call or had my calls returned with the answer in a short amount of time. I had no problems whatsoever with this agency during the five years that I was with them. I simply got sick of being bent over annually by Allstate at renewal time. Adding my 16-year-old to our auto policy was going to be a financial shagging of epic proportions so I decided, for that reason, I was out.
People complain about the high cost of doing business with established insurance companies until it is time to file a claim or seek other assistance. We continue our association with Doug Hammel and Allstate Insurance because we know we will get excellent customer service and attention to our individual situation.
DO NOT go with Allstate. Ask any pro that works with claim repairs. Nothing but a delay-filled hassle if you ever need them. I’m sure that Allstate will be disappointed to hear about my honest, real-world experience. :( sorry you’re disappointed.
Good service up front in terms of getting the insurance. It took took over a month to get someone out to the house after submitting a claim. Local agent never contacted us or provided any customer service other than to say call Claims. Called claims agent several times without a response. Claim submitted on Mach 29, 2024. Work is starting June 24, 2024. Incredibly irresponsible. We are switching insurance companies.

I am a person who has not gone paperless yet. When ever I need a copy of my Homeowner's or Auto Insurance Policy' and ID cards mailed to me. Your Staff mails them out to me right away. I appreciate that so much.

If you have a late payment from automatic withral and try to pay it, they will not let you pay it until the next bill cycle. Even though if your auto payment doesn't go through that day, and you try to pay the day after, they will immediately deactivate your policy, and you won't be able to drive your car until next Tuesday. Dumbest policy I've ever heard of. Insane.

When I've had a question, I always get a "LIVE" person, not a recording or asked to push this button, then that one, and so on. I love having a real person to talk to about my "individual and personal" situation. I have always been satisfied with the response because I believe they have always been there for me...and on time!
Allstate gives good coverage at a reasonable rate. They track my driving and give feedback on things, if any, could be improved on. I really like Allstate and the agency which handles my insurance on my home and car. I am glad I switched from my old insurance company. Allstate saved me hundreds on my insurance.

Recently had damage to my home by my neighbor hitting it with their car and their insurance company was State Farm and of about 6 months I tried to get the damages taken care of and they would not respond to my emails other then to say one they didn't receive or not the right information and when I would send more information no one would ever respond. I've been with Allstate for a number of years. Never had issues with them at all. Everyone has always, always been quick to help. But, due to what is currently going on in the world today, I took a moment to see what I could do to lower my costs. So, when my policy is up in July, I will be dropping them and going to another company where I get the same coverage, at just a little over half my current costs. Still, Allstate is a great company if the most expensive one out there.

Doug Hammel and Melanie Stanley of Hammel Insurance Agency were really terrific when I recently had a claim. A truck forced my motorcycle off of the road, badly damaging the bike. I had a motorcycle trip planned for the last two years and I was scheduled to leave in just over two weeks! Fortunately for me, the Hammel Agency, Allstate Insurance claims and Southside Harley Davidson worked together and pulled out all of the stops and got my claim approved and processed and the bike repaired in plenty of time for my trip! It was an incredible experience! I haven't had many claims in my life, but the few I've had have led me to anticipate some slowness and reluctance from the insurance companies. For instance, I had a hail damage claim (via a different insurance company and agency) about 20 years ago that dragged on for over a year!! Quite the opposite experience with Doug Hammel and Allstate. What a great team!

Overall, the service is great. My one complaint is that your pay in full discount program. I received the discount but was taken back because I did not enroll in auto pay. I will not do that again.
