Great repair service – Our refrigerator was not keeping a cold enough temp and the food in the freezer was starting to defrost. This happened during the day on Saturday. By 7:00 p.m., the refrigerator was just not working properly. We called several appliance service centers, none who were open or could come out on a Saturday night. The average wait time was 3-4 days for a repair. We called Harris Appliance around 7:45. The man we spoke to said he would be to our place between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. He arrived around 8:30, diagnosed the problem - relay switch, and made the repair. Yes, the total cost was $328, however, our neighbor had the same repair done about two weeks ago, with a different repair service and the cost was the same. Face it, any major appliance repair is going to be costly. I would definitely recommend Harris Appliance to friends and would call them again if need be.
RIP OFF refrigerator repair! – Total time of repair: 45 minutes. Total cost of replacement part: $7.00 Total cost of job: $350.00 Replacement part was not OEM. Original wiring harnesses were cut off to install non-OEM product. The part used was: SUPCO 3 n' 1 START CAPACITOR/RELAY COMBO which can be purchased for as low as $7.00, was not my money spent, was my landlord's money... lucky for me! If you are paying, do your research first and ask the right questions. Told me $65 for assessment and tried to charge $85 at the jobsite. They gave me a fair price on a new door seal - 125. The part alone would cost a homeowner 30 bucks and the job involves removing the old seal and reattaching the new one, and adjusting the door to hit squarely if necessary. Not an easy task. This is a great price I am thinking. But when I asked for a price for the light switch - a much easier job and one that has maybe a 15 dollar part that takes 5 minutes to change, the price was 165. I said why so much for the easy job and he cited some book with standards. I asked him if he had ever swapped out the switch and he said yes. I asked him if 165 dollars was a fair price for 5 minutes of work and he backed off of even coming out, saying that his prices were from some book and that was the end of it if I wanted to argue about them.
I would take away stars if I wasn't the first one posting. Our fridge broke at our store on a hot Saturday during the Greenwood car show and we needed same-day service ASAP. I found them in the phone book offering same-day and called asking for help. I specifically told the guy our address AND told him that Greenwood was closed and told him to come up 3rd Ave. He said fine and he'd be there around 2. He then called when he was supposed to arrive saying that "the road was blocked and I can't make it." We asked where he was and he said 1st Ave, saying it was blocked (which it couldn't be since I had just driven up it.) We then offered to give him directions and he said no, the road was blocked and he wasn't going to come. This left us hanging with a broken fridge and apparently someone who couldn't even be bothered to work out directions when he was less than 5 minutes away. So much for customer service.
