We loved our experience with Midwest stone source when we were looking for new granite counter tops in our kitchen. They were the only site in Rockford that told us the places that we could go look for new slabs since we didn't like any they had on site. Everyone else just told us to come back periodically to see if anything new came in. We were able to find a slab we liked and Midwest took care of everything else. We will definitely be back when we look at redoing the bathroom next year!
If you spend over $5000 on granite countertops, wouldn't you expect some follow up after installation to make sure you were satisfied? Not only did we not get that, we never heard from them again, never even received a final bill from them, until a year and a half later when they must have realized they lost track of us and demanded their money. What kind of business doesn't realize someone owes them for finished work until a year and a half later? Do yourself a favor and pick a granite supplier that keeps better track of their customers! Responding to the reply from the business below: No, we did not get a bill on the day the work was done. Changes to the job were made and the installer said we would get billed. So, yes, this is on you for not billing us! Like anyone, I pay when I am billed. Oh, by the way, the edges of your "great" granite have chipped terribly with normal everyday kitchen use.
My experience with Midwest Stone Source was excellent. Denise was very helpful and gave great suggestions. She was willing to drive out to my house to help me pick a color for the counter that would match my current cabinets, floor and walls. I felt overwhelmed trying to decide what color and style of countertop to go with and she was very helpful. Once she suggested a countertop I was able to come in and look at the slab. Once I was satisified we picked out tile for the backsplash. When my specific slab came in I was able to look at it and place the template on the slab of what would be my counter top. Everyone I worked with was friendly, polite and professional. Everyone was on time and did what was contracted. I would recommend anyone doing a remodel or new construction to use Midwest Stone.
If you spent over $5000 on a new granite countertop, wouldn't you expect some follow-up to make sure you were satisfied? They sent a nice independent installer out for installation and then we never heard from them again, not even to give us a final bill, until a year and a half later when they must have realized they forgot about us. Then they finally sent a bill and demanded their money. Do yourself a favor and choose a granite supplier who actually keeps track of their customers and cares if they are satisfied.
