Milanezza
Great Milanezzas (beef, chicken or fish) with very creative toppings. Perfectly made. The American fries are amazing. The Brie Surprise appetizer is to die for. Heard the stuffed dates are very good too...next time. Happy Hour every day, every hour. $8 signature drinks, $5 craft beers. Service is very good too. Check it out!
Cafe Catula
Looking for an upscale, quiet place to dine amidst some art in East Kendall? Yes, East Kendall! The food is spectacular and creatively prepared. The bacalao croquette appetizer with guava sauce is a must try. Also the Risotto de Masitas. Prices are moderate to high but worth it.
Frenchies Cafe
Charming French American restaurant in the heart of Coral Gables. This unassuming diner gives you great service, a comfortable atmosphere and best yet-great food! We stumbled upon it for lunch and decided to try it since it combined two things my mom and I love: French food and a diner. How can you go wrong? I'm happy to say we were right. I had the Duck Confit Club and she had the Croque Monsieur. Deeeelish! Bonus: awesome fries.
Crackers
Southern Comfort food in Miami Springs? Yes! This is a great family restaurant with everything from fried green tomatoes, fry biscuits, Mac n cheese, cheese grits, awesome chicken fried chicken and fried bread pudding is a must. Did I already say 'fried'? Oh...but it is so worth it. Staff is very friendly and the ambiance is great. Eat under the Tiki/Chickee Hut if the weather is nice. We'll be back for sure. Not too pricey. $$
Havana 1957 Cuban Cuisine Brickell
Finally! A place in Miami that truly captures the essence of old, fabulous Havana. You can get decent Cuban food at several restaurants in the city but not with excellent service or ambiance like this. Bring your out of town guests, coworkers for great happy hour specials, or your parents to reminisce about how Cuba was in the 50s. You can't go wrong. Food is good & prices reasonable (for Brickell). Thurs-Sat: live music after 6:30pm. Can't wait for my next visit.
The Burger and Beer Joint
Harold & Kumar would ditch White Castle burgers for B&B's Mustang Sally burger any day of the week. With a $10 pitcher of beer on Thursdays to wash it down & a trendy crowd in the heart of Mary Brickell Village you can't pass this deal up. Warning: you will get addicted.
Hy-Vong Vietnamese Cuisine
One of Miami locals best kept secrets! Get there just before doors open at 6pm Wed-Sun and Kathy will make you feel like you're having an intimate dinner at her home. They always have soup special for about $9. Try the fish in wrapped pastry or the duck. Amazing! The coffee is served in self-brewing up with condensed milk - well worth the extra calories.
