Moshi Moshi
Fridays DJ Dixie - There is nothing like sushi and sake outside and right by Espanola. These guys have some really good dragon rolls and are open til 5am. As soon as you're legs go numb at cameo just cross the street and have a cup of nice cold (or hot) sake. You also can still jam out in chair while shoving a dragon roll in your mouth (what a pig!).
Boteco Copacabana Restaurante
Fri-Sat 8pm Rose & Ramatis- Muito bom! Take a trip to Copacabana without a plane involved because let's face it, you can't afford it anyway and you'd ending up getting arrested (too many capirinhas and beautiful people)! I think this place is kinda new but the point is, it's a good spot on sobe to hit up - this message was approved by a Miami local, lol ;-)
Crunch Fitness
50% Off Enrollment - yes, they have yoga AND a bunch of very hot members. You can pay half the price and get 3 additional months covered, just pay in full and you're golden. Seriously people, that means stop eating, get up, and walk over to crunch so you can look better than the locals - good luck!
Cheeseburger Baby
Sunday Fun-day - $1 beers, $1 jello shots, and $5 pitchers. There are is a lot of competition with Five Guys right around the corner, BUT you can't beat a Sunday Fun-day at CB Baby! I bring my sisters, nephew or BM/hag because you can only have a funday with a sweet and entertaining little sundae (w.e. I was trying to rhyme) aka good company.
Tantra Productions
Monday Nights at Tantra - the beach can be kinda dead on Mondays, people are still recovering from the weekend and just starting to react consciously. The best MIA tip ever: take a vitamin B complex before drinking and hit up Tantra - best thing for hangover, more drinks!!! Filled with latina hotties, by far the best Monday night spot.
Chocolate Restaurant
1/2 Price Mojitos, Margaritas, & Capirhinas Happy Hour - from 5:30-8:30 a person can actually drink on Española Way without secretly checking their bank account on their phone as the check comes (you know you've done it!). This spot is owned by the same guy who owns Sega on Lincoln etc. and it totally has same feeling - I was totally meant to be in a big red, furry, gold trimmed chair!
South Beach Body Waxing
$25 Waxing - yes, even men have to take care of a few stragglers ;-) we do live in Miami - have you looked around? Constant competition, I have the brains and charm but always like to stay on top of my looks...recommended by my straight baby mama, I knew it was the place to go. I can't thank her enough, I can feel confident again for the next few weeks and without spending my stash for drinking, lol.
Morena Restaurant
Live Music - House Band & Steakhouse/Tapas Bar - I really love these miami latin spots that put the passion in flavors and ambiance. Nice and dark inside, it's best to bring your date, that may not be the prettiest to look at (I had to say it), and come on a Thursday night with an empty stomach - Dale!
La Sandwicherie
Miami Classic - this place has been around forever and believe it or not, they don't offer cuban food. They have this special recipe for a vinaigrette they put on all of their stuff and it's incredible. This is the perfect place to have a quick, cheap, and yummy bite to eat before hitting up the clubs.
Fat Tuesday
Expecting a ton of traffic, I showed up at Cocowalk for a movie and had like an hour to spare. I didn't want to venture too far and luckily this watering hole is conveniently situated 2 seconds away from the theater. Cheap happy hour and for a quick alcohol overload, try the 190 octane.
Purdy Lounge
I usually come here for a Friday or Saturday night dance fest and have a blast. But if you want to have a less hectic Purdy experience, check out the happy hour. 3 PM - 7 PM Monday through Friday. 2 for 1 everything and you can walk around and not have to weave through 12,000 people to get to little boys'/girls' room.
Magnum Lounge
I've never been much of a Minelli-Sondheim gay but this is a place everyone must check out. They have a live piano player and all the Broadway Betty's come out and sing their favorite showtunes. The food is surprisingly good and the Sunday T-Dance is worth checking out. BBQ out back and half priced drinks from 5PM-12AM. Maybe call in sick on Monday?
Soyka's Restaurant Cafe & Bar
Most of my work friends live up north (and are mixed ages and genders) and the 55th Street Station is the best compromise. Soyka's is great for a happy hour drink ($5 for well drinks!) and some d-lish food. The pizza is pretty off the chain. The beauty of this location is if you get bored, you can walk right on over to News Lounge to keep the party going.
