If I could go lower I would. Similar to others here, their tech went out and said I needed a new system. Or at least a new evaporator coil. I have a home warranty and Royal Air is a scam. They mark up the costs so much that it's incomprehensible. Instead of using them I asked the Home Warranty to cash me out what they would have paid these price gougers and I used someone else who was 75% cheaper!!! Whether you are going through home warranty or as a regular consumer, do your homework and get a few bids--these guys are ridiculous and take advantage of people in need (A/C is a necessity in Texas). I would never ever recommend them.
@David Guynes said it right! Total scam. They delayed processing my repair until I met with a salesman. After I said "No" I was ignored for a week. I demanded they do something so they sent another technician to spend five minutes looking at it and ignore me for another week. Now two weeks later I am told I will be getting a repair (not a replacement) but it will cost me over $1500 that the warranty company will not cover. Turns out every part of that additional unnecessary work. Yea that's not happening.
I purchased a 5-ton unit in August 2017 from Royal Air on the recommendation of a friend. In January 2018, Royal Air contacted me that I was due for a maintenance checkup. An Appointment was schedule after checking the system out, service Tech informed me that Trane requires a voltage surge protective device on the compressor and the furnace in order to warranty the system and it was the fault of the sales rep, that he should have included it the sale contract. Service Tech c ... laimed that the surge protective device cost $350 a piece, a total of $700. He said that he would let me have them for $500 for both since the sales Rep messed up. Not knowing any better, I approved the installation. After the service Tech left my residence, I went online and found the same product for $43 to 49 dollars on different websites. January 31, 2018, I contacted Royal Air to speak with the Mr. George Saleh President of the company, I was advised that he was not in; I left my name and number for him to return my call, which he never did. Next day I called back and ask to speak with the GM Jared Hatfield, he was not in, but he did return my call. I explained the circumstance behind my issues; he explained the cost of the product, but not a 350% markup. Mr. Hatfield stated that he would lower the cost to $200 for each device and ask me to send him my email so he could send me a receipt with an extended one-year warranty, as of this date I still have not heard back from Mr. Hatfield. Royal Air contacted us in regards to our Spring service and was able to schedule us in a matter of a couple days. The technician contacted me an hour prior to arrival and was very professional. I've been truly amazed by the attention and service provided by Royal Air thus far and they come highly recommended for their expertise, professionalism and promptness. Julio was very helpful when he came to examine our AC/Heater. He was very prompt and friendly. He was knowledgeable and upfront regarding the issues he found. He explained some practical steps we could take in the meantime until they get the part to fix our AC/Heater. I appreciate him for being able to come out on a Saturday. Thanks Julio.
GREAT experience start to finish. Josh and Mark correctly diagnosed problems with my heater (two other companies did not). Importantly, they found a safety/health issue - a cracked heat exchanger in my 20-yr old furnace was leaking low levels of carbon monoxide that did not show up (yet) on my monitors - but I could see the cracks and the poor flame. I am an engineer very familiar with combustion equipment and it was clear it needed replacing. They gave me a very good price and quickly scheduled the work. Luis and Bijardi did a beautiful job with the installation and bringing it up to code. Everyone was responsive and professional. My home is now warm and the air is healthier. Very happy with the whole process - and the results.
Always had great service! The technicians are always very polite and informative. I have dealt with the manager a couple of times (nothing bad) and they are more concerned with making sure everything is ok than with being right or proving a point. Would highly recommend them to everyone!!
Gabe came out to repair our heater. This is actually the second time this winter he has had to come out. The first time was the upstairs unit and this time was the downstairs unit. Both times he was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He was patient and kind answering all my questions. He was very thurough. I would definitely recommend Royal Air to anyone! We live in a rural area where it usually takes days before a service crew arrives but Royal Air always shows up the very next day. Thanks for great service!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! We bought a brand new Trane unit from Royal Air and paid nearly $10,000 for it. With the new unit, Royal Air sold us two thermostats that did not have full functionality with our heating/AC system. We asked Royal Air to replace the thermostats, calling them no fewer than a dozen times. Royal Air was completely unresponsive, refused to return phone calls, and never addressed our problem. After over a month of trying, we were forced to give up and pay out of pocket for new thermostats. It seems that once this company gets your money, they are no longer interested in serving the needs of their customers. We would never use Royal Air again.
Julio did an amazing job on cleaning our furnaces! Came early during the arrival window. Dressed professionally and cared not to make a mess in the house. He answered all of my questions and provided spectacular service to increase the longevity of our furnace. I highly recommend Royal Air to anyone.
My house is30 years old. Everything's leak, rust , my heater broke , instead of kept call for rrepaire George advised to install a new heater unit with 4 ton Carrie ac. He even help me finance for 4 years. They put all new ductwork ,all new vents . 2 days finished the job. Very nice tec .clean. the tec .came today to check if everything. o.k.. ha ha!! I did not even call. Great job..i woould recommend to all my friends
We had them replace our entire air conditioning system in March. We had the old setup for 33 years, and never felt it was clean, even with multiple cleanings. Our new system is fabulous:. Clean air, cooler and lower bills! Gabe came to do the 6 month inspection. He was at our home over an hour. He told all was good, in addition to covering everything he checked. Very pleased😀
Total con artists. Stay away. They were "dispatched" through my home warranty provider. And before they even got to my house, I had seen their reviews online (I don't know how they have 5 stars here. Must have had the negative reviews removed). I called my home warranty to let them know that I wasn't comfortable using Royal Air. But they said there was nothing they could do, until after Royal Air had made their visit. The “technician” made it out to be like my furnace, piping, and duct work were a legitimate health risk. And that the wrong parts were installed in my unit. And that EVERYTHING needed to be replaced. He’d even shine his flashlight at my air vents in my house, and make these “oh, oh geez” comments. Like he’s able to tell there’s something wrong without even actually looking inside of anything. Exactly like the other reviews online. They make it out to be like the sky is falling, and everything must be replaced. Then they try to push a sales person on you, before you even have time to think. I even asked the “technician” not to have their sales guy contact me, until I had heard from my home warranty. And a few hours later (while I was back at work), someone was calling me, saying they’d be at my house in 15 minutes to “discuss options and financing”. They try to get you to commit as quickly as possible, before you even have time to think. Without even contacting your warranty company. When I contacted my home warranty later that evening. They told me that Royal Air hadn’t even reported any diagnosis to them (the contractor is SUPPOSED to report their diagnosis to the home warranty company, and then you work everything out through them). My home warranty provider immediately canceled the work order with Royal Air. And dispatched a different contractor to come out to me the next day. The new contractor said there was ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with my furnace, or anything else. And I needed NOTHING replaced. STAY AWAY. CROOKS. I bet they make a good living swindling anyone they can.
Julio did a outstanding job. He found the real problem with our unit. We had someone to come out earlier that wanted to charge us or a motor that that was nothing wrong with it he found a problem in the circuit board and showed us the circuit board to where it will had a burnt spot he did eight outstanding job for us.
Can't say enough about how great my experience was with this company. Jared came out to troubleshoot my issue and was very professional and communicative throughout the process. They were able to save me money and get my unit running in a quick manner. Highly recommend their service and Jared especially
OK so I have seen a lot of the negative comments about George the owner. Let me say this.... George has done allot for people in the LGBTQ community. He has showed us that we can start businesses and be successful. Now I know George is too humble to talk about being discriminated against.. But being part of the LGBTQ community in the HVAC business was not easy. He over came allot
Had a home warranty issue so Royal Air was dispatched to check out my issue. The Senior Technician Ed was very professional and advised with his knowledge of my system. If my repairs are approved my hope is that this company is dispatched again because I trust in their abilities.

Everyone was very professional with great customer service, from the lady in the office to the tech, Javon, to the comfort advisor, Ron Dixon. They responded quickly and got us set up for installation the next day. Would have done it the same day, but we chose to wait a day. I expect that the installation crew will be just as courteous.
Absolutely the worst experience we have had. Replaced 5 A/C units and all heating. They have been back out making repairs dozens of times. Have hooked up drain lines wrong and learned this morning that they are still not hooked up correctly. Have zero heat on the same unit after going on 3 years! Flooded my ceilings 4 times as a result of improper installation and repairs. One of which included simply running the drain lines to the nearest exterior wall where they broke throu ... gh 2" of insulation board to access the brick wall. They then broke an 8" hole into the brick an literally stuck the drain pipe into the hole. This allowed the water to just run down the wall where is simply took the path of least resistance. Flooded the ceilings again!!! Will call again early Monday morning in attempt to give them one more chance. If they cannot get it right I will have to opt to trust the courts to help me secure a proper resolution! Do not recommend this company!!
Ed, from Royal Air, was sent to my home after opening a case with American Home Shield. He did an amazing job, patiently diagnosing a hard to identify issue and following up three times to ensure the problem was resolved and we were satisfied. Ed went above an beyond, and was by far the best technician that has been dispatched to our home from American Home Shield. I can't recommend Royal Air enough!
Called them through American Home Shield--he looked at the heater and said the vent pipe needed to be changed since it was the wrong type. He drove out to the store to get the vent pipe and then came back and replaced it. He also checked for carbon monoxide and recommended that I later in the future replace the old duct work and possibly have a UV light installed. I asked many questions, and he explained everything to me and was very patient. I am happy that they replaced the vent pipe without an additional charge (I paid the service fee to the warranty company only).
Royal Air Houston is awesome! The new unit has been blowing like a champ for two years and keeping us perfectly cool/warm. Recently it started making a loud noise and wasn’t blowing air. Called the service dept and the lady on the phone was very polite and arranged a technician pretty quickly. Unit is under warranty. Gabe came out today and found the problem quickly and did the repair. In and out pretty quickly. Gabe was polite and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Gabe and Royal Air again. So glad I went with Royal Air when we put our new unit in!
Had Royal A/C come out today. I’m very impressed with the professionalism and information I was given. I forgot the technition’s name but I appreciate the respect he gave me. It’s sometimes creepy to have a strange man in the house but I was completely at ease with him. That’s a big deal to me. I’ll definitely refer Royal A/C to others. Thank you
So far Royal Air has been A+! They’ve been responsive and straightforward. They’ve had to come back several times to deal with a compressor issue, and they’ve taken care of it each time. Ed is one of the best technician’s and Natalie is super great to deal with over the phone.
These guys were so friendly, so professional and polite. They were very kind to my small children and dogs that kept trying to get underfoot while they were working, and they were happy to be there fixing our air conditioning. What a great company!!! They came back a couple days later to replace another part and were just as great. Very affordable too. A++
We have been Royal Air customers for two years and have been extremely satisfied. We bought a house with an old air conditioning system, which they replaced with the highest quality equipment and even added a new furnace for free! Their technicians are always courteous, knowledgeable, and astute at diagnosing and attending to any issue. A recent service call highlights their dedication. When the technicians were finished with the work for which we had called them, they noticed that we had not activated our wifi thermostat control. They insisted on staying the extra time--in our case about an hour--to get that convenience up and running for us--at no charge. When he sold us the system, the owner told us his company would always take care of us, and he has been true to his word!
SHORT STORY: TOTALLY SATISFIED CUSTOMER! great experience from start to finish. i called them mid afternoon thursday (11/16/17) and had a whole new system installed and working by mid day saturday (11/18/17). that's just over 48 hours! LONG STORY: like many other folks here, i'm a customer as a result of my AHS warranty. at first i was a bit uneasy simply having a service provider dispatched, rather than being given any kind of choices. but i figured i'd go with the flow and ... hope for the best. the first visit was given a window of 9am-1pm friday. the guys (brandon as i recall. and another fellow who's name i neglected to get) were here at 9:03! they diagnosed my problem in about an hour and gave me all manner of solution options from band-aids to brain surgery, with ZERO pressure one way or another. so we scheduled a sales manager to visit that evening between 6 and 7 to progress the conversation. just as the first crew did, justin arrived right on time. great guy! from the moment he got out of the truck, it was like we'd known him for years. we looked over our system and he gave us a range of options. we chose a reasonable middle of the road option. he got our financing in place in about 15 minutes and we scheduled the install for sometime the next morning. at 8:30 saturday morning we get a call saying they were about 45 minutes away. the crew arrived (jose and two other fellows) at 9:15 and got straight to work. by 3:00 the new system was installed. jose took me into the attic showed what they had done. then showed me how to use the new smart thermostat. and away they went. i couldn't be happier.
Owner is beyond rude and disrespectful. Called me in for interview, then he shows up 10 minutes late. After ive been there 15 already. Then makes me wait another 30 minutes before ever being pulled in. Then I have to wait in another room,10 minutes. I tell him about my 12 years experience, then find out the job is for a whole different company, "they just opened." Not 1 time did George look up from his phone the whole 7 minutes. Then he says "ok,let me think about ." I had t ... o make him tell me about the job. He was disrespectful and like most bad owners, dont care about other people's time or money or the 2 hours I missed from work to be disrespected and lied to. I stood up said" im not interested", shook his handband walked out due to realizing they have no clue what they we doing in logistics... This was the first and only time George, the owner looked up from his phone. I never complain or leave bad reviews unless it's needed. Unfortunately George is the owner, because I asked on the way out. If he was not I would have spoken to his boss about his disrespect and nonsense. UPDATE - as soon as I posted MY experience on the managerial aspect, I got a call from a private number, stating "This is George, the owner of Royal Air and we just had an interview." I replied "yes sir, what can I help you with." He asks how i left the review online and I told him politely that was my experience. He then starts threatening me saying, "well I am going to come kick your ass! I will call you into another "business" of mine for an interview and then kick your ass when you get there." I told George all my phone calls are recorded and he replied "good for you, I'm gonna kick your ass. I promise you I will track you down and kick your ass." So thats the quality of ownership here apparently. Solid example being set over there. Ill be turning it over to the proper channels due to the childish threats. Grow up bud
The most unprofessional, dishonest company I have ever hired. Still 5 months later, still the same problems. This is after we were talked into and "needed" new units. We bought 2.... Still ac not working the way it is suppose to or guaranteed to... no calls backs, no follow up... they only care about money. Not customer service. So upsetting for a family with 5 kids... money doesn't grow on trees around here!
I'm glad I called royal air the service tech was top notch he knew what he was talking about after talking to the tech I made a decision to purchase a new unit.a few months later I saw royal air installing a unit for a senior citizen for free .keep up the good work royal air.
Royal installed my unit about 5 years ago and have maintained since then. Today I had them come out and check the unit because I was flooded and with all the sheet rock work going on I was concerned that the unit may have a lot of dust in the unit. They sent Julio and was both professional and did a great job of checking the whole system.
This entire organization should be ashamed of itself. We were unfortunate enough to have been referred to royal air by 2-10 home warranty company, which frankly, is also a sham. As i am writing this review in october, the saga began in august, when one unit was rattling and vibrating. We scheduled a tech to come out and inspect the unit, who took one look at it, collected the $60 service call fee,and said to turn it off for a day and then turn it back on again. Of course ... that didnt work, so we called back. This time they sent out another gentleman, who used his flashlight to look in the unit that was still working properly, and told us that we needed a new compressor, which was not covered by the home warranty at $129. When we explained to the technician that he was looking in the wrong unit, he backpedaled and said that he could “hear” that the rattling unit needed a compressor, and that he was “just checking” the working unit. During the two weeks we waited for the new compressor, the second unit stopped cooling. We called the sham home warranty company to file a second service ticket, which of course cost another $60, and scheduled visit number 3. During visit number three, this technician, who gave me a fake name, claimed that the rattling unit needed a new motor and fan, and the second unit that just stopped working could use the compressor, so he switched out one perfectly good compressor for the new one, and said the txv valve needed to be replaced on the second unit. They sent tech number 4 out to replace the motor and the txv valve, however tech 4 said the txv valve was fine, but tech number 3 “overfilled” the unit with freon, so he released some and it was “fixed.” Then he dropped the fan motor while installing it, so the first unit still rattles. Fast forward to last week, when i called a real a/c company, who informed me that both units will need to be replaced due to filling each with the wrong freon. Guess who is giving me the runaround when i called to complain and get their insurance information?! This company is bogus. Period. Dealt with them twice already as this is the company American Home Shield warranty has contract with. Both times I was given wrong diagnosis. My A\C wasn't cooling and pipes were freezing up. I was first told I had a leak with the coils and that the whole coil system needed to be replaced. Service guy went up to the attic for about 3 minutes and didn't open one thing to check the coils as I was there on the bottom of the stairs. He took a picture of the drain pan so he can sell me a $200 drain switch and $200 fee for annual checkup. He also tried selling me a UV light system to be installed to kill particles. During this 1 hour consult, he tells me all these things that needed to be installed and the price it would cost. BUT, he didn't want to tell me the price of the unit he wanted me to get installed as someone else or specialist wanted to come over and talk to me about that. I had 2 other specialist from different companies that were not home warranty related come to check the unit and comes out there is a leak, but its related to the compressor valve in the ac unit and nothing to do with the coils in the attic or a/c unit itself. I called the company back as I didn't hear anything from the warranty company nor the ac company itself, and the lady from Royal air told me the warranty company will cover the coils, but I had to pay $915 for 13lbs of freon out of pocket. All the repair needed was the valve to be welded. Ridiculous. Before the "specialist" left my house, he wanted me to do the survey that was texted to me and I said okay. But I was going to do it at a later time. He didn't want to leave until the survey was done, so I went back on my phone and did a survey and he left, he said that was their way on moving on to the next customer. If you want to lose money and spends thousands and thousands on a new unit that you probably don't need. Then Royal Air is the company for you. SAVE TIME AND MONEY and do not deal with this company that sells you and misdiagnose you just for the money. I will be making complaints to the company itself, and the home warranty company.
We decided to replace our furnace and AC after 20 years. The first step was Justin coming out to explain getting the best unit, pricing and warranty available. The next step was Luis and crew doing the installation and removal of the old units. From the music and laughter coming from the attic you would think there was a party going on. All were professional and very efficient, very positive experience.
I would like to thank Royal Air and Mr George Salah for installing an awesome unit into our home. After being flooded from hurricane Harvey our a.c. went out so not only where we stressed out from having to recover from Harvey but now also had to worry about our AC. In speaking to Royal air and Mr Salah they were able to assist us in giving us relieve and tonight our family is back home resting in our own home. Thank u Royal Air you guys are the best.
George, the owner, is a pleasure to deal with as a customer. He's very customer-oriented and responsive. We had Royal install an entire system back in 2012 and they did a great job. Just last week we had our very first and only issue - the blower motor finally went out (definitely not Royal's fault at all). I called the folks at One Hour and they quoted almost twice what Royal did AND One Hour said it would take 3 days to get the part - Royal came out the next morning (on a Saturday mind you) and fixed it promptly. Justin, the technician, did a great job and even checked the rest of the system for proper function. I would definitely recommend these folks.
Worst company ever! I have asked them to quote me an AC system (incl. installation) and the quote was $11,400. I have asked a different company in Houston to quote the same system including installation and the price was $5,500. After confronting them about the high price the answer was: "We are a for profit company". These guys try to screw you over and I would strongly not recommend to do business with them.
