OMG! The best Thai Food ever! We having been coming here for years and stopped this by past Saturday running errands. The food and staff are superb! The lunch menu is great and they give a lot of food, enough to take home for dinner. The thai tea and coffee are out of this world. My favorite dish is curry and they know how to do curry!!
Ambiance - for a hole in the wall, I liked the ambiance here. Would have liked some Thai music not Barbara Streisand (4 stars). Space - loved the booths and tables weren't too close together. This is a small place but it didn't feel cramped or crowded. 5 stars. Food - great menu selections, love that they had gluten free options, held the fish sauce for me, made the dishes mild for my preferences, and even swapped the shrimp for chicken at my request. Thai ice tea and food were just ok. It wasn't the best Thai I had but it was decent. (4 stars) Service - great service in the beginning and very happy to answer questions and do my accommodations. Server disappeared afterwards but did promptly give us more rice once we asked. 4 stars for friendly and prompt but bordering on 3 due to disappearing. Value - I enjoyed my free Thai ice tea with check in but we hated paying $2 for a can on coke. No hope of a refill without shelling another $2. Didn't charge us for extra rice. Fairly good portion. We paid $13.99 for our chicken pineapple curry and $11.99 for the chicken pad Thai. 3 stars. I've been coming here for 10 years and I absolutely love this place!!!!!!! I dine in when I get the chance and I order delivery when I want. Their lunch specials get you super full and they have great prices overall My absolute favorites are the chicken pad Thai and the hot and sour shrimp soup! You can never go wrong with Thai Dishes
I had been going here for several years, but the last couple of times we went things just have not been the same. Because of our last experience with having to do without dinner when the dish they brought was so spicy it burned my mouth for hours, I decided not to go here anymore. We had to send my food away and I was not comfortable ordering anything else because of the way the server acted towards my informing her that it was way too hot! She questioned my ability to know what constituted hot or mild and that made me feel as if they didn't really care that the food made me sick. When my friend took a bite he grabbed his water and said it burned his mouth too, and it was way too hot. He felt bad and asked if they could bring me something else, but her attitude came off condescending to both of us, so I declined and just drank my Thai ice tea to try to sooth my mouth. They didn't charge us for my meal because I couldn't eat it...Siam Rice II is closer and I have never had a bad meal there, so that is our Thai restaurant of choice now.
Absolutely delicious!! Loved the experience taking my mom to lunch here. Had the spicy noodle dish with chicken (Pad Kee Mow), along with the Green Curry with chicken and white rice. We will be back soon!! Chicken Spicy Noodle (Pad Kee Mow) Chicken Spicy Noodle (Pad Kee Mow) Chicken Green Curry - medium spicy! Chicken Green Curry - medium spicy!
I've heard good things about this place for a while, so we finally stopped in. Inside, there are signs everywhere with their accolades, and there are those here on Yelp that say its the best. Umm either we came on a bad night or you all have no idea what good Thai food is. To start, the place is very dated. All the old statues and such are faded and covered in dust. And really, putting the menus under the glass table top? Anyway, service was good, people were real nice (the only reason for 2 stars and not 1). Food came quick, real quick. Hmmm, faster than most any other Thai place I've been to. Not sure if that is why our food was lacking flavor? I'll start with the rice. Did we order rice pudding? No the rice was just real mushy, but not all of it, about half was dry and the other was so mushy that you could no longer see the individual grains, making it really gross. Then there was the chicken in my dish; tiny pieces and sliced very thin - and dry, so that the mouthfeel was like sand; you know that texture, and so small that you could not really tell it was chicken. And the flat noodles were overly sticky, gummy, dry and bland. My potsticker looked good, but was cold inside. The soup, way overcooked veggies - all soft an mushy here too. My wife had the same mushy rice, though I think she had less edible grains than I. She had the shrimp and what could have been good, but they served about a dozen small shrimp on a bed of raw cabbage and they were a bit bland. Too bad, we were really hoping this place lived up to its name. If the food was as good as the service, I would give them 5 stars, but not tonight.
We decided to try something new and stopped by Thai Dishes. The food was very delicious! My daughter (3yrs old) had the kids menu chicken chow mein the food portion was great unfortunately she didn't eat much of her food. My husband had the Sizzling shrimp in curry sauce. Very tasty he loved the sauce. I had the shrimp chow mein it was also very good, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the noodles had lots of flavor. Their Thai tea is the Best Thai tea I've had!! The balance of the sweetness was perfect. Very friendly and welcoming environment :) Kids chicken chow mein and the shrimp chow mein Kids chicken chow mein and the shrimp chow mein
To me this place is a little hidden gem tucked away. We come here about twice a month for the Pad-Se-Ew, Pad-Thai, Yellow Curry, Thai Ice Tea and lots of other food choices. Service is good and the food is delicious. Make sure that you say HI to "O" (not spelled properly). She does an awesome job. We have and will be back again and again.
I have been eating here for several years and the food has been pretty good. But recently I was here and ordered the same thing that I always do and noticed that it was $54 for the following items. Two combination fried rice and an order of egg rolls, orange chicken à la cart. When I asked them why it was so expensive they couldn't really give me a good explanation. I decided that this was far above what the prices used to be and I decided to cancel my order and leave. This costed my gas money and my time to go there and I will never return (and I've been eating here for years) When I check the local prices at other Thai restaurants also in Granada Hills like Rincon The prices are half of what they are charging me here and trust me their food is much better. This message specifically is being left for the owner and I hope that you are reading this. I feel bad for your employees because at some point I guarantee you your restaurant will go out of business for nothing more then Bad business practices like raising your prices by 40% more then your neighboring Thai restaurants that in fact are better and more busy. My advice lower your prices before this becomes a shoe store. I think you're being very arrogant by charging more than any other Thai restaurant in the city and in the San Fernando Valley.
I cant say enough about this place. The food is always great and never had a bad experience. I have been coming here for a while now and I love it. The staff is very attentive and fast. My favorite is the Red curry with beef or spicy mint leaves. Either way you cant go wrong. Even if you do... More
Okay, so the restaurant décor is just okay - but I would much rather money not be spend on foo-foo stuff, versus serving outstanding Thai Food. The food is honest, consistent, outstanding, and just darned good, every time we pop in for a bite. Whenever we feel like not messing around with other places, we ALWAYS come back to our... More
While "Thai Dishes" used to be a good restaurant, over the past few years I have seen both the quality of the food, as well as the quality of the service decline. I stopped going to their restaurant, but have sporadically tried their delivery. Sadly, the food has not gotten any better... in fact, it seems to have gotten worse. It's a shame. For me personally, I have given up on "Thai Dishes", opting for other Thai restaurants.
I've been to Thai Dishes a couple times and each time I've left disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, but not great. The food is okay, but perhaps not better than that, and the cost was too much for the quality and quantity of the food. The service was very spotty and I had the sense that I was getting in... More
We never eat inside the restaurant; we always do take out. The food is good, there are always coupon deals for it. Portions are big so make sure to share! Centrally located in the Santa Clarita Valley. Easy in and out. Friendly atmosphere, we just prefer to take it home to eat it...
I eat here weekly for lunch. I frequent this place because the food is good and the lunch specials are a great price, which includes soup or salad, an egg roll, a main dish with rice and wontons. This restaurant is really clean and I never have to wait to be seated. The only downfall is that the service is... More
