I enjoyed my visit, unfortunately I couldn't get a pup this visit. Being packed with my family in a minivan for a 4 1/2 hour drive.... But I will definitely be going back. Overall, very friendly people. May be a bit confused about some of their facts, but they compensate by the way that they raise these beautiful pups. Hands down, they have an amazing team and program.

I'm the owner of two huskies and in the northern breed community often come across misrepresented "wolfdogs" who's breeders clearly lied about their content. I also volunteer at a wolf dog sanctuary with 60+ rescued animals, ranging from true high contents to mislabeled husky/malamute/GSD/ect. mixes from irresponsible breeders who couldn't even spell the types of wolves they claim to breed. WHSOTP absolutely falls into the latter category. They are one of the worst examples of back yard breeders and animal misrepresentation that I have ever seen. Their website is full of misinformation about their so-called "wolves" which common sense and a quick google search would quickly prove as 100% false. This include claims like: "Wolves have night vision, animal that have night vision or is nocturnal have brown eyes. They collect the light during the day and reflect it back at night." "The wolf is the lion of the North. They are called that because they are descendants from the same lineage as lions." "They have a life span of 25 years and even as old as 30. Most wolves will live this long if taken care of the correct way. My wolves range in weight between 90 - 300 pounds, but are not obese, just healthy." "Wolves do need fiber; in the wild they receive it by eating grass, dirt, sticks and little rocks. It helps with the digestion and helps to make there stool hard. Feed your wolf sticks, grass, dirt, and small rocks to help with digestion." "Wolves can also hear about 6 miles away, and smell about 4 1/2 miles away." "Wolves take care of a fly and tic problems. A wolf has the ability to soak up moister through their skin. When the fly or tic get on the wolf the moisture is sucked out of pests which kills them. Over time they could clean your yard from these nuisances." "They can run up to 40 miles an hour but they will stay in the yard that is theirs, the fence gives them boundaries. " Anyone who has experience with any sort of canine should know such claims are beyond outrageous, and would be laughable if not for the suffering caused by their irresponsible breeding practices. Their animals are malnourished, inbred, and never receive proper health screenings before being bred thus passing down a whole laundry list of issues to their pups. They also claim to be breeding "99% wolves" yet offer pups year round, which is biologically impossible for animals that only breed once a year during the winter months. Anyone with experience identifying wolves, wolfdogs, and northern breeds can quickly tell by looking at their animals that they have zero physical signs of having and wolf DNA and are instead mixes of "wolf looking" dog breeds such as huskies, shepherds, ect. In conclusion, no one concerned about the wellbeing of animals should support this business in any way whatsoever.

To preface, I work in canine rescue, focused specifically on animals who've had the "wolfdog bomb" dropped on them. I recently took in an animal that, according to the previous owners, came from a breeder called Wolf Haven Spirit of the Past. These breeders said that the pup in question was "99%" wolf, and sold her to a truck driver, who eventually grew bored of the animal and dumped her at her parent's home in Washington. The trucker's mother was convinced that she herself had prior wolf experience, though by the sound of things, what she actually had were misrepresented Northern-breed dogs. Even so, she was happy to brag: "I've raised half a dozen wolves before. They were great pets, and listened to me because I was Alpha. But this one has no manners and I just don't have the energy to dominate her anymore like I did with my other wolves!" As a result, Dasha spent months on the end of a six-foot chain in their backyard, developed sores on her hips from laying on nothing but packed dirt, and suffers from minor tremors and a facial tick caused by blunt-force trauma to her head - the result of heavy-handed "training". The owner was threatening to kill her if a wolfdog-specific rescue didn't take her in, so I drove up to retrieve the pup immediately. From day one, it was pretty clear that the breeders had lied about Dasha's wolf content. Wolves only breed in the winter and give birth in the spring - but Dasha was born in July. She display no prey drive, has good off-leash recall, doesn't exhibit escape artists tendencies, and has never had an accident in the house. By all accounts, she is a very good DOG, and has even taken well to socialization in the hustle and bustle of Downtown. Considering all she'd been through, it's a miracle that her recovery has been so swift. We've labeled her a GSD/malinois mix. Her dark eyes, tall thin ears, and black sable coloration are absolutely GSD traits - impossible for a "99% wolf" to inherit - and her nimble structure and narrow face, coupled with her high energy and mouthiness, suggests Belgian Mal. She has nothing about her that would lead me, or anyone in the experienced rescue community, to assume that she has any wolf in her. As beautiful as she is, though, Dasha was not a well-bred animal, and has terrible conformation as a result. Her rear legs are so straight that she walks weird, and will likely experience hip/joint issues at an early age. Wolf Haven Spirit of the Past are breeding wolf-like DOGS, and unhealthy ones, at that. They are relying on the ignorance of their buyers to maintain business, and lie blatantly about their practices to put on the facade of being good at what they do. Their lies about Dasha being "99% wolf" nearly got her killed - the kind of people who believe these lies are exactly the sort that also believe that wolves and wolfdogs need to be "dominated", beaten, and chained. DO NOT support this abhorrent breeder.

Okay for starters. Where is the proof? What did you do go and take the blood and of each wolf and go Ah-Ha! One of them is not pure wolf! Dude they don't even say they're pure wolf. Only 98% close but not pure. Second off I don't work for this company but I can say Wolves can be trained. I've trained some. Don't believe me? Take it up with my Wolf Ranger who is sleeping next to me. He is my...

I know how genetics in wolfdogs are passed. Through content, and not percentage. These animals are at most low, but you are forgetting that they are advertising them as HIGH/PURE. That alone is enough reason to not buy from them. Yes, wolves and dogs do look very different. I can phenotype, thank you very much. And wolfdogs are not "hybrids" so please don't call them that. Wolves and dogs...
